I'm lucky my next door neighbor watches our dog when we go out of town. They gladly take her cause they love having her there with their dogs.

if your cat bolts out and never returns, wasnt yours to begin with..................... it can probably go outside and walk off whatever ailments, they are resilient animals, unlike dogs

cd, if my dogs get through an open door, once outside off leash, they're gone! They will rerurn only when they het ready.

This is what I would love, the problem is not letting them out of the door coming in or going out. Once they bolt without husband or I around they're gone. I know I'm sounding paranoid but it's how they are.

Some just don't get it, major panic time when a pet runs off.

Going in the truck is my dog's favorite thing in the world so much so that it is becoming a small problem of them trying to "sneak" a trip, like in their dog brain if they can squeeze thru the doorway uninvited when I am holding my keys, that they would activate some dog loophole that means they are then allowed to go.

Dumbass Parker waited by the door when my daughter came home yesterday (I was leaving same time) and ran to my truck and the fucker wouldn't get out.


I can leave the door open and if I am there he would not put a paw thru it, but apparently he doesn't understand or give the same respect to my daughter.(or more likely his excitement overrides his dog circuit board) ... idiot. Now I gotta train his old ass over on that and make my kids train him so he listens to them too.
I love that stupid ass dog.

My mother feeds my cat when we're on vacation, they like each other and the apartment has a second door leading to the elevator hall so the furry asshole is not getting away even if mom leaves the main door open.

Great idea. Get a couple of those auto-feeders from wish.com. Actually being alone may be much more comfortable for cats than travelling.
