Media Valentina Shevchenko (TUF) - no water allowed, when training?

In my old gym there just wasn't any space for bottles near the mats. So during grueling cardio workouts I would be literally to lazy to walk off the mats to have a drink when the coach gave the opportunity to. That's how valuable I think this is for a champions mindset™.

Good weight cutting practise I guess? Otherwise I'd be telling her - good luck with that policy, I'm having a drink

One of those idiots.

Like the American wrestler (or was it football player) who died from heatstroke while being denied water.
Yeah but she's not American. American method is to train long and hard and take a rest day.
A lot of other cultures don't go as hard and no rest day.
On Jre he said she says it's pointless to do 90 minutes if the flight is 25.
I've done 3 hours training with no water getting ready to cut weight, so if they are doing 30-60 minute sessions they'll be fine

I been to gyms where classes were held like that. I think it's just hard to get everyone to concentrate when they are running off to drink water. I came off disrespectful because I was visiting and I was the only dude with water on the mat.

Don’t need water if you are water…

Water loading before training isn't the worst idea as long as you're supplying enough electrolytes. For people who sweat profusely, dehydration is basically gambling on a cardiac event.
I remember watching Brock training and he'd sweat so profusely that the mats were drenched after just 1 session, he definitely needed to drink after every few mins lol.

How many Champions train with this policy that forbids hydration?

Old school wrestler mentality. I wish everyone could be exposed to the craziness that is Wrestling (whether folkstyle or freestyle). I've personally witnessed the craziest training sessions for elite high school athletes these days. Stuff that would break "tough" adults and even some professional guys. I'm telling you there is a reason we have kids like Jax Forrest, Bo Bassett, PJ Duke, etc. who are out grappling college champs while in high school. Jax Forrest beat a former NCAA D1 champ at the Olympic trials a few weeks ago. Jax is sixteen. You know how crazy that is? If enough of these kids transition to MMA down the road surely at least a few can be good. With all that said, they get to drink water during practice if needed, jeebus.
