I agree with both of you actually, yeah Taila was dangerously close to winning before that headbutt. But also, Val's ego seemed like it was bruised in that fight, she kept initiating grappling and then LOSING the grappling exchanges, and then she maybe thought Taila was getting lucky? She has beat the most decorated strikers at stand up. She beat Amanda Nunes at stand up, Amanda barely got a SP due to a couple of takedowns.

She also completaly outclassed Holm at stand up (x18 times world boxing champion)

She outclassed Joanna too (x5 timed world muay thai champion)
