I see everybody keep saying this because she is 35yo or because she had one close fight

Come on, even in that close fight she was piecen that girl up on the feet, she was just making mistakes on her takedowns ending up gettin reversed. But othee than that she got not damage.

"She is old now" "Her time is up" "She's slowing down" "She is not the same"

She is as good as always and she is going to show it tonight.
She is going to put the paws on that girl tonight and show everybody, watch

Yup. She’s running from Amanda at breakneck speed.

I’d like to see her win tonight (which she will)

then fight Amanda trilogy as almost everyone thought she won the second fight

then they should both retire …. Amanda has a foot out the door already …. And Val has nothing left to prove if she beats Amanda

she only risks getting grapplefucked by Erin or Tatiana

It’s not only that she’s getting older, but stronger grapplers are coming up in the division.

Blanchfield is a future WMMA goat contender. The best wrestler I’ve ever seen in WMMA.

She finally has so many interesting contenders left in her own division rn. Moving up to fight Amanda just in this moment would be dumb

Best wrestler who can't take down JJ Aldritch.

how would it be dumb ….. it would be genius

highest reward and nothing to lose

the others are high risk and no reward

I have a feeling Val will compete until she passes the torch, whenever that may be.

She is so deeply committed to the martial arts lifestyle I don't think she could accept walking away and wondering if she could have kept winning.

I think she rides it until the wheels come off, be that via injury, age or opposition talent catching up to the bar she set.

She's past her prime and she's gonna lose soon. She also arguably lost to Santos and her goofy ass headbutt saved her ass. Don't worry tho, she will beat the can in Grasso

I'm pretty sure everyone is slowing down physically at 35. Most women in sports where speed is important peak before they're 30.

It's probably not going to matter against good stylistic match ups for her like grasso and fiorot, though.

After she beats Grasso it would be smartest to fight Fiorot next as she earned her title shot by beating the number 1 conteder.
Then after that either go up and fight Amanda in the first ever UFC wmma trilogy OR fight Weili in a superfight at 125.

She is slowing down. Doesn't mean she's still not much better than the rest of the division.

That said, grasso wins a very questionable decision tonight

That’s revisionist bullshit it was a close fight but more media members scored it for Nunes than Shevchenko.

She wasn't piecing Santos up, her headbutt was more significant than any of her striking. This is why good grapplers are a problem for Valentina because her striking isn't what people make it out to be. She relies on her strength and grappling advantage a lot, so a good grappler that can negate Valentina's grappling givers her a lot of problems. And they don't even have to be good strikers, just tough and it will give Valentina problems and make her panic
