Rumored Usyk vs Wilder - April/May in the US

The same thing the sport's always done since the beginning. We already have fresh blood like Itauma preparing to take over once the old guard is through. He'll likely lead the way for the younger generation of heavies to come up.
Its been largely the same guys for 10 years. Old lions keep eating the young lions.

We've had some new world level guys come out on top. Wardley vs Parker is the latest example. They're not far apart in age but Parker has been at this level a lot longer than Wardley has. Dubois beat Joshua prior to that fight. Usyk will be retiring in a couple years which should free up the division unless he loses before then.

Wardley is elite?? Parker is passed it and I've been saying this for a year.

Wardley is world level but not world class. The only thing that appears to be world class is his punching power.
I'm not sold on Wardley at all, i think he may have gotten a bit lucky, but i am happy for him to prove me wrong

He was close to a shut out against Huni who hasn't fought at any level

The division has gone from being very good to being a bit shit in just a few years, Fury got beat twice, Joshua got shown up, Wardley beat Parker. Usyk is by far the best right now, we have Itauma and Kabayel basically, i'd be happy throwing Moses in with Wardley and see how that pans out, Moses looks like he hits like a truck and Wardley is like a crash test dummy

The only things I'm sold on with Wardley are his attributes like his power, toughness, and stamina. He also seems to be able to hold a decent shot. His boxing skills obviously need a lot of work but his counterpunching is improving. He landed a slick counter uppercut that hurt Parker. Wardley vs Itauma would be fun. I'd take Itauma but Wardley can bang and when he's hurt he becomes even more dangerous.

I love Usyk but he deserves criticism for this fight. I understand Wilder is still a big name but he has done nothing to deserve this fight.

Wilder was a murderous puncher with C-level boxing skills. Now that he is gun shy and broken, he literally has nothing in his arsenal. Usyk will be cautious and pick him apart for a few rounds until Wilder's team throws in the towel as he retires on his stool mid fight. Usyk is basically a far better version of Parker, whom dominated Wilder 12-0. He needs to retire.

Wardley has everything except experience and skill! In any other division this would be terminal but as a HW you can have some gaping holes in your game and still succeed due to size/power differential. Joyce and wilder have proven this in recent years. I do think he’ll continue to improve but he’s come to the game too late to be a true world class fighter

I agree but you’ve summed up why this is happening in your 1st paragraph. This has nothing to do with wilder, and everything to do with usyks legacy. He’s fighting him because, rightly or wrongly, he’s considered/perceived as one of the elite of the last generation on HWs

Well said. I agree.

This is more than rumoured; both Usyk and Wilder have confirmed negotiations are happening, and both want to fight each other.

Usyk is a little too late though. He's not really gonna get much credit for beating current Wilder, but, I think actually Wilder may not be much different than he always has been - it's just that he never actually fought anyone other than Fury. Okay he beat a 57 Ortiz twice, but people talk like Ortiz is a GOAT - he's a decent boxer, never a champ. A contender past his prime;

Then, Fury, who beat him arguably 3 x. But, the ease Parker and Zhang dealt with him - i think Wilder may have always looked like that against top HWs. And then look how Ngannou did against Fury. Their trilogy was mgaic @ Fury and Wilder, but I think they'll both go down as very overrated, just, made for each other.

Interesting as he was ringside at Inoue just the other day.
Yeah, he was there. It sounds like for now he has parted with them because he's trying to build his brand in the US. Turki isn't going to be involved in his next fight. Usyk's manager had this to say (from the BoxingScene article MMALopez linked to).

“I cannot say that he's not going to be fighting in the Riyadh Season [in the future]. He might be fighting in the Riyadh Season, but as far as right now, we don't have any offers or anything like that from them.”

Commentators in Wilders fight agsinst Zhang were retarded. they said he doesn't throw powerful right hands when he did it several times including when he got koed.

And if Zhang counters it, how easy isn't this going to be for Usyk
