Not a deflection. Trump made a big mistake signing that monstrosity omnibus $1.3 trillion spending bill. And George W made a mistake bailing out the banks without getting any accountability back in 2008.

It is, but a huge part of that is the number of people retiring and the cost of social security and medicare. There has been plenty of irresponsible spending, but a lot of it isn't necessarily additional spending as much as fulfilling what was already promised.

Your own link says the estimate for the current quarter is $75 billion, so I don't think anyone suggested continuing to borrow money at that pace.

All I know is if the US economy goes down it would bring the world with it. Like during the bank bailouts by Obama (lol), if some of these American banks fell, the major German banks would fall and a bunch of others. You can see the domino effect. US taxpayers bailed out foreign banks as well. It was necessary though.

Even, if we weren't borrowing, we are finished. In 1950, social security had 7 workers for every one retired person collecting social security. That number is like 2 now. Old people are poor. Women are almost twice as poor. We are gonna be even poorer at that age.
