He's not being prosecuted for corruption, he's being prosecuted for breaking ranks.

Adams was beloved by your party until he said unchecked immigration was a problem. Then you turned on him in a second.

That isn't true at all. People don't like him because he is a bullshit artist. He offered kickbacks to people he is associated with and didn't know how to be a mayor without being a cop first. He would pull the race card when people ask him tough questions. He is charismatic but he has very little substance.

NY politics isn't tradition red vs blue like the rest of the country. It's a bit more complicated than that. Adams and Hochul aren't really progressives. Adams is in a job he isn't qualified to do. He got lucky during a COVID era election and turnout was low. You can look at his policies and it is pretty obvious he doesn't have a vision. He hires based on patronage and nepotism.

There's not much cause to impeach. A governor isn't under obligation to help the federal government here. Not helping is very different from impeding.

Because there's not really a downside to sueing. It scores political points and who cares what it costs or if the federal government loses (they'd just end up in the same spot).

There's also no legal mechanism to for the federal government to impeach a state governor. That would be very bad.
