International US AID was necessary, proof is documented.

I answered it in my post, but our work to these countries brings direct economic benefit to the US—it helps us grow our exports. The result of helping impoverished nations become upwardly mobile is that they’ll have more disposable income, and they will spend it with us because of the help we provided and relationship we built.
So we send them the money that they will use to sometimes buy from us?
Seems really clever, Joe.

lol my sister went on a rant about 'our global reputation' or some other rot. 'The world hates us now!"

my lady friend at the gym refused to go on her yearly Euro vacay because she's 'ashamed of being American.'

puhleeze. most of the world has never like America IMO. Europe especially. 'fat americans in shorts wanting ketchup for
their pomme frites!'

America is regarded as the 'world's bitch' with tons of money on the offer for nebulous, oftentimes nefarious, causes.
'what about child vaccinations in Africa? that's surely in our interest to provide...remind me why.

Why is the richest, most powerful empire on planet earth somehow obligated to bail out less ambitious, dedicated countries?

I'll wait.
A lot of US AID isn't exactly charity. You're not that charitable.

It's setting up manufacturing in poor countries with low expenses.

America gets cheap goods. It builds the economy for both so aid isn't needed, spreads US influence and undermines China manufacturing competitiveness.

Then because it was working and Americans were increasingly buying goods from Africa/SEA instead of China...
and because broke ass Africans/SEA can't afford to buy American goods in return...

Donny slapped these broke countries producing cheap goods with massive ass Tariffs for having trade surpluses.

Highest "reciprocal tariff" was Lesotho with 50%, some broke ass country in Africa
Cambodia second at 49%
Laos 48%
Vietnam 46%
etc etc.

Luckily relations with China have never been better so you can rely on them for cheap goods.

We are not the world's ATM. Some government help in some things is good but there is/was way too much money going out that the majority of US citizens did not want.

"But they will hate us if we don't give them all this free money " is bullshit they hate us anyway and have 0 respect for anything we do.

Every issue seems to boil down to “Trannies” lol
This line is getting a bit tired. Literally no one is going to feel ashamed by this lame ass comment that gets used over and over.

In a discussion about USAID, if taxpayer dollars are being spent on this silliness, then we have a right and perhaps an obligation to talk about it.

some old greek guy once said

"the goal of an argument should be enlightenment not victory"

In his honor, I am suggesting we rename this place The Solutions Room and maybe stop all this partisan fighting useless bullshit

The hardestcore lefties will admit there is government waste and it should be stopped

The hardestcore righties will admit starving children worldwide is something we should avoid

So my problem is with this administration's ready, FIRE!, aim, wait what, rehire and tell me we wanted that to happen approach to fixing both of these problems.

This run around with a chainsaw for media exposure and slash everything to pieces or tariff the whole world approach with no long term planning or concessions that not everything is all or nothing is just fucking stupid

If they had gone in with a pragmatic lefty mindset, ok which of these programs is actually doing some good and helping both countries, and said we'll keep these

But then switched to a righty mindset and actually implement the cuts swiftly and decisively of the pottery class in denmark or whatever the fuck the wasteful programs are, I'm a happy rabbit.

Mission creep is a common problem amongst government agencies and non-profit. What starts out as a targeted and effective program grows and morphs into a bloated directionless mess based on incompetence leadership or a surplus of funds that "have to be spent or they'll cut our budget next year" etc.

So, the solution is cut out the cancer but leave the healthy cells alive. Use a scalpel or if we're truly in tirage mode a rusty saw, but don't shoot the person in the head and say I cured that skin cancer pimple on their nose effectively give me a nobel prize and a parade

Break up the USAID programs that do feed people or teach people to feed themselves, that create jobs in their local econmomy, or give them access to safe water and medical treatments. You know the base of Maslow's pyramid that we all need to survive, cut the arts and cultural crap out completely. Create smaller agencies where waste can't be easily hidden and where accounting is strict and their are punishments or firings when abuse is found.

Problems solved

It's difficult to believe that people are still starving in this country because food isn't available. Ronald Reagan

A hungry man is an angry man Bob Marley

Feed and help people all over the world thrive and you will have influence and friends

Randomly slash shit to pieces with no long term plan and you are using a corporate raider mentality from the 80's of suck out all the value, sell the shell company to some sucker and move on that leads to long term suffering will the rich snort cocaine off of hookers pinky toes while floating in a pool of lime jello

God I miss the 80's

and a Bunny shall lead them to wisdom

that video was pretty hilarious, skimmed through it. The similes and whatnot were great when combined with that narrator voice.

But then why DOES everything almost always end up inevitably at trannies?

And if you think about it, there's a hell of a lot of energy being put into much smaller things like that but much much less energy put into increasing the mitary budget by $100+ billion. We don't know what that money is being used on. It's not like they're going to have a public spreadsheet of secret research projects.

That’s not really it, no. I find the whole thing kind of ironic, because USAID works to do many of the things conservatives claim they want.
USAID works to stabilize poor, sick, and war-torn regions, and this has a whole slew of effects.

—It decreases irregular migration to the US from other countries. The main drivers of this are things like war and violence, lack of economic opportunity, lack of critical infrastructure (I mean things as basic as clean water). By working to reduce those things, you reduce irregular immigration to the US. An example of that is the Feed the Future program, which in Honduras reported a decrease in intent to migrate of 78%.

—It helps establish manufacturing and business in underdeveloped countries. Partnerships made there help the US import materials more cheaply that we can use in manufacturing thus helping us to compete with countries like China.

—As I mentioned already, it provides new partners for our own exports. This isn’t a small thing; the growth in exports we had to these countries was credited for helping us get out of the Great Recession as quickly as we did. Our recovery could’ve been longer and worse without them. Likewise, if you truly want to start closing the overall trade deficits the US has, we need to increase our exports. USAID helps us do that.

—It helps us retain status as the reserve currency. This is important. When China conducts international trade, they convert their yuan to the dollar. The entire global economic system is based around the dollar, and it would be very bad to lose that. Why is the dollar the reserve currency? Because we protect the trade routes. USAID helps us to do that in ways that don’t involve military force and expense, and are long lasting and mutually beneficial.

TLDR: It is not a viable long term strategy to blow money on ICE raid after ICE raid, plane flight after plane flight, building prison after prison; nor is it viable to tax the shit out of American consumers (via tariffs) to close trade deficits. The most viable strategy is to help these underdeveloped countries become emerging markets.

In this instance, because its a waste of taxpayer dollars. I don't think this really needed to be explained.

It is actually quite interesting. VA has elections this year, and the democrat running for governor released their first ad. It is attacking Sears and republicans for not caring that there have been government layoffs.

Northern VA where all the government employees live is one of the richest areas in the entire world, as per average house hold income, and the rest of the state, not so much. The average person isn’t going to cry about this.

I think it is a terrible strategy by the democrats. No one is going to cry about overpaid bureaucrats, who tried to lock you down, force the vaccine, and cover up tranny raping students in bathroom, all of which NOVA democrats did do

The battles you guys choose are just so odd. We don’t know the specifics of what these alleged drag shows entailed, but we know it was one of several things done with a $25,000 grant. In other words, we’re talking about how a few thousand dollars was spent.

Meanwhile Trump just cost the global economy trillions. We spend more than that several thousand dollar figure just on the cost Trump charges the government for rooms at Mar A Lago any given time he visits.

I would wager the military wastes more than any gender program given that their budget is more than several countries combined. I'm not even saying that trans stuff should be a USAID thing depending in the context of the circumstances, but I would just like to see equal "waste and fraud" discovery on both party's programs because it sure does seem to be left targeted. Plus, from quick reading it appears a lot of things being brought up even USAID funded anyway but other agencies like the state department.

Military protects me and the rest of the world. Frankly, the world should pay us.

I'm OK with building schools, feeding children providing clean water etc. LGBTQ etc? No.

Apparently... according to the left. If the US doesn't then China will? lol...

Fucking let them. China's economy is stalling out and they're about to collapse due to decades of their retarded one child program.

Why shouldn't the US pull back and focus on fixing our economic and social issues. We pour money into other countries... and?

How's Maui doing? lol
North Carolina?

Oh? We gave victims $750 and a cup of coffee?

Lovely

Fine... Cut back on the military and USAID

I won't argue with you... lol
