Holy shit, if this is true, it’s a giant political scandal.

I'm going by what has been reported. The FISA had a foot note about opposition but did not reveal who paid for it

Comey said in an interview he never said the FBI believed Flynn was not untruthful. Under oath he stated the agents who interviewed him believed he showed no signs of being untruthful

I think it looks bad on the surface, but I wouldn't make any determinations about the FBI/DOJ/FISC following or not following procedure without (at a minimum) seeing the application itself.

I would like to see a prominent Senator/Representative propose legislation to clean up the FISA process. Last I checked the warrant approval rate was ~99.7%, which is far too high for a court that is supposed to honor civil liberties.

That doesn't contradict the previous statement. One can perceive no signs of another being untruthful without believing that he is truthful.

He was specifically asked if he testified to the fact the agents thought Flynn had not lied. He said he did not. The transcript was then released showing he testified to exactly that

Of course we don't know ANYTHING for certain. 90% of your posts are from what we have heard not know for certain

NO ONE that has seen the application has said the Hillary campaign or DNC was named in it. IF this is true and it certainly looks to be, then information pertaining to the FISA application was withheld. This would possibly be a crime

I agree about reforming the FISA system. But does it matter? It sounds like they have already broken protocol if not the law already. So why make more rules if they will just not be followed

Even what Cohen was doing is probably legal. But if Trump knew about it I'd be fine with him being forced out.

I’m glad you focused on one word. It’s not how I prefaced it to Bobby And wasn’t looking for you to answer it for him. A spy is someone who secretly obtains information. How did Halper secretly obtain information when he was having F2F meeting with 3 Trump campaign coffee boys? If you believe having a meeting is doing something in secret then there is no help for you and you are obviously unwilling to accept Halper was an informant in this instance.

If Halper used a device to clone information from the 3 errand boys cell phones then that would be something done in secret and he would be consider a spy.
