Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Two

Casually I do, I know the top 50 or so guys but I haven't dug deeply into it. I prefer MMA even though I personally started training boxing as my first martial art, there's so many more facets to explore with fighters and the talent pool derives from many unique bases and backgrounds. I don't think I would be as excited scouting boxing prospects as I get when scouting MMA ones.

How do you go about finding out and collecting all this information about fighters?

Fighter databases, youtube, word of mouth, google, cross referencing HW athletes from other sports and seeing if they crossed over to MMA, etc...

It takes a bit of work, but it's fun, and discovering new prospects and watching them grow and end up in the big leagues is really cool.

Yeah I can imagine it takes a lot of time. Who are some of the prospects you followed early on that are now doing well?

I've had about 30+ guys on my list that went onto big organizations, but currently doing well?

Vitaly Minakov
Alexander Volkov
Smealinho Rama

Most of those guys were scouted early on and others had posted insights on their progression. Copeland was probably the first one I had listed as a prospect before any of the big prospect sites.

Most of my newer profiles like Curtis Blaydes I dug through and found initially, especially the guys in my post on amateur HW's, so watching those guys develop will be even more exciting.

I think whoever lands flush first gets the KO here... Kyle doesn't exactly have the greatest chin, or defense himself.. Erokhin definitely has some pop, he did starch Rogers after all.

I fully expect him to, he's the huge underdog being essentially unproven. If he wins then it would be a massive upset, and the foreshadowing of a possible blue chip prospect.

With how Sylvia has looked lately I fully expect him to lose by decision. Years ago he would have beat guys like Coutinho without breaking a sweat, but now he breaks a sweat getting out of his car.
