Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Three

Despite knowing French, I haven't been able to discern how old he is from any of his fight videos or interviews. Reminds me of Kenny Garner when he first started fighting for M-1, they listed like 5 different ages for him and no one knew how old he was. I'll defer to DrGlaze since he's done more research on him than I have for his LHW prospects post.

On his facebook it says he graduated from university in 2007... If he he started uni at 18 and graduated at 21, that would make him 29/30 now. That is very much an (educated) guess though!

Not sure if already posted, but EFCA announced last week that their heavyweight champion Cyril Asker has been signed by UFC.

Just watched Andryszak vs. Schmeidberg (sp?) from this past weekend...I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot in the big leagues, dude brings it.

Good research!

I like him, but he's a regional gatekeeper unfortunately. He beats journeymen and untested prospects, but loses to anyone with decent skillset. Mind you, he'd be a huge improvement over some guys on the Bellator and WSoF roster, so I'd be cool with him there.

This is an odd fight, but there is a prospect vs prospect fight, Canada vs England when Olympic wrestler Arjan Bhullar faces young prodigy Tom Aspinall at Hard Knocks 49 on April 22nd.

Interesting that they got Aspinall to fly in for this. Unless he's training somewhere in NA right now.

Yeah, I don't see or expect him to dominate and get the belt or such, but I think he'd be a fun addition. Him in Bellator would be fun...

Very interesting! Awesome. Sucks someone has to take a loss though, especially Aspinall who would drop to 3-2.

Found a video of Erohkin's fight with Cash. Man, Erokhin has some fast hands!

Yeah, that guys hands are scary fast and accurate. He's had issues with big heavyweights landing shots and smothering him though since he's extremely small for the weight class. But if guys give him space to work, he'll light them up like a christmas tree.

Ufc signs Cody East, HW signing spree continues

Awesome! They just need to sign Blaydes, Aliakbari, and Pavlovich and the UFC will have an all star roster.

I heard he will be fighting Walt Harris as his first fight in. That could be really bad for him, or really good, depending on which Walt Harris shows up.

A question to everyone...

Should I add Rico Verhoeven to the profiles list? He's signed with Glory and seems to be doing MMA as a side project currently, but do you all see him being a guy that should be promoted as a top heavyweight MMA fighter in the near future?

Imo no! I see him like Tyrone Spong at the moment, kick boxers earning some extra cash. But until he fully intends to do it, then no.
