Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Three

The UFC has done a good job signing some fresh talent at HW lately. Hopefully they can keep it up, while doing the same at LHW.

Still waiting on that holy trinity of Blaydes, Pavlovich, and Ali Akbari ;)

Those guys alongside Makhov will basically be in the top 5 of the division in 3-5 years, replacing older guys like Werdum, Cain, etc...

I added Brendan Battles to the amateur profiles list, he is a 21 year old former champion high school wrestler and NCAA D1 football player. He's basically the heavyweight Sage Northcutt. :p

Over the next month and a bit, I'm going to be keeping an eye on two fights that will show where some prospects stand who aren't currently in my main post. If they win then I will be adding them to the honorables list.

Tanner Boser will be fighting Tim Hague to avenge his only loss on March 4th, a win here will get Boser back on track in the division and score him a title shot against Unified MMA champion Tony Lopez.

Darko Stošić faces Emil Zahariev for the #1 contender spot at Final Fight Championship 22 in Athens, Greece on Feb 19th. Stošić is a physical specimen who has looked exceptional since moving to heavyweight.

Chaz Morgan 10-1 vs Juliano coutinho 6-2 added to CES MMA 33 March 11th

I would have thought their fighting at the Croatia Fight Night, seen as UFC haven't announced any fights beyond April so far (UFC 200 is in July)
If I'm not mistaken in 2014 Krylov announced (via social media) his opponent and at which event they will fight 3 or 4 months before UFC officialy announced their fight. So it can be true.

Why would they book a fight so far in advance?! There's 3 months of cards that need fights booking before UFC 200!

Likely all those cards are booked already. A fight not being announced doesn't mean it hasn't been booked.

Who is/was he fighting? I'm not familiar with the show.

Kevin Asplund on the Legacy FC card this Friday. So it's going to be an easy showcase fight. I don't know why he needed "a tip" to find Cody East though since he's been a talked about prospect for like 4 years now.

Yeah, he should put on a pretty impressive display against Asplund. Cody and Tyler have both been around for a while as prospects. Tyler seems to have disappeared after his last loss and gotten passed by Cody, but maybe they're just trying to hype him up through the series like Sage and Brown.

Jesus, I misread that originally and thought Asplund was the guy!

Knowing our luck, Asplund scores a flukey flash KO.

Alexei Kudin vs Konstantin Erokhin in Fight Nights, still not 100% confirmed but in talks.
