Ah, I thought he were in his early 30s. I agree with you then, 36 is far too old to be considered a serious prospect.

Anyone got a scouting report on him?

35 5'11, kinda flabby obviously for the height/weight. He looks like your typical takedown->mount->gnp ftw type fighter nothing special. He's what denis stoinic was to cain so this is a showcase for ngannou. Saw a fight where he soccer kicked some fatty after he beat him so I look forward to him getting murderd by francis even more.

Yea I figured when he wasn't even honorable mention on TS list. They are trying to build up Ngannous highlight reel and give him time to work on his flaws

Agreed. Chris De La Rocha would beat him.

I guess I'm fine with some fodder to build Ngannou up though. I'm just happy they are actually doing a development path for a heavyweight prospect and not just throwing him to the wolves.
 
Agreed. Bojan is a gimme for Ngannou IMO, he'll probably lose quickly, have one more fight/loss then be cut.

I really hope they all get signed this year. If they add Blaydes, Pavlovich, and Amir, in addition to the Tybura signing, 2016 could be the best year for HW prospect signings since 2008. I think we saw the potential of the division with the debuts of the highly touted Velasquez and Carwin, along with the way Dos Santos entered the promotion (not to mention Lesnar, who was far from a conventional prospect). But they left the bench mark so high that not really having any prospects since that have been able to live up to that standard. This year could be the turning point where fans can get a restored faith in the future of the division. Of course they have to deliver, but the potential really hasn't really been like this high since 2008, IMO.

Here he says that he started wrestling at the age of 6, and was wrestling for about 6 years (so not much of a wrestling career), then he went to hand to hand combat and combat sambo and after the army went to MMA.

I haven't found any of Pavlovich's amateur sports competitions, but that would be amazing to see.

Also, former heavyweight amateur fighter Amir Lacy will make his pro debut at 205 pounds on April 30th at Conquer Fighting Championships 2.

Did he say whether he wrestled Greco Roman or freestyle wrestling? Or both maybe?

That's great!!! There's a young heavyweight with lots of potential to add to the division. That's the kind of signing they need to have more of.

I was just profiling him for my list too, I guess I can scrap that since he's no longer unsigned. :)

I spent the past few days exhaustively digging through the amateur ranks, and pulled out some new very interesting fighters. I will be writing profiles on the new ones shortly. The third post on the first page of this thread is where you can find the amateur listings for those who haven't checked them out yet.
