The next two weeks are jam packed with Russian/Eastern European heavyweight fights. What's everyone's thoughts on this big batch of heavyweight fights?

Denis Smoldarev vs. Maro Perak
Kenny Garner vs. Aslambek Musaev
Levan Razmadze vs. Arsen Abdulkerimov
Alexander Volkov vs. Alexei Kudin
Alexey Kiser vs. Nikolay Danilov
Jeff Monson vs. Alexander Stolyarov
Mukhumad Vakaev vs. Igor Kostin
Zaurbek Bashaev vs. Zaur Gadzhibabayev
Michal Andryszak vs. Lew Polley
Salimgirey Rasulov vs. Alex Sandry Modelli
You can add Marcus V

arsen abdulkerimov> razmadze 1st rd sub

arsen needs a chance at a bigger stage imo....

Maro Perak 98 kg defeated by Denis Smoldarev 118kg
20 kg difference, Maro should never go to HW

Yeah, giving up 50 pounds is silly. No idea what Perak was thinking.

Arsen keeps improving year by year, he's a good prospect. If he stays with M-1 I'd like to see them give him someone like Grabowski or Chaban Ka.

good call....he fought in the states and no big company showed interest in him...wow

North American organizations generally stay away for foreign talent at HW. Russian fighters don't sell tickets over local talent, and a Russian fighter beating up the local favorite wouldn't sit well with crowds. So it's almost entirely up to the big companies like Bellator, WSoF, and the UFC. Honestly one of them should have picked him up though. Even a short run in WSoF against Mehmen and then Rama/Ivanov winner would have been good.

i also agree with you on this one....arsen is a nice talent...him could be a nice a challenger to the rama/ivanov winner

Volkov defeats Kudin by Unanimous Decision. Wlodarek defeats Bajor by Unanimous Decision

Was it close ?

Both Wlodarek and Volkov's fights were close. The ground game for the winners was the deciding factor.

As another note, Tom Aspinall defeats Ricky King in a battle of credentialed former amateur fighters by round 1 submission.

yeah I knew Kudin would put up a good fight. I think he already has another one lined up too. It was a good win and understandable loss for each guy no matter the outcome

PS did you see Sakai looking huge next to bigfoot?

Yeah he has Brett Rogers next. I'm taking him for the Win.
