LOL! Whenever someone throws out the founding fathers as an excuse to hug their guns I know that they really haven't thought it through.1) Throughout American history we have had guns in our homes. The failure of the family unit and removal of that "toxic masculinity" directly contributed to the delinquency of our kids.
In the same way you think we will never improve families and morals i believe we will never remove guns from our society.
I think much of your argument centers around the safety vs liberty choice that our founding fathers settled.
2) Gun deaths among children. Drowning deaths among children. Automobile deaths among children. Let's not cherry pick our outrage.
You can reduce the likelihood of death in damn near every statistic with education and a positive role model. I teach my son gun safety. I teach him how to swim. I will eventually teach him automobile safety.
Me. I DO THAT. That is a father's job. My toxic masculinity is a positive force.
If the founding father were here today you know what they would say? "Why the fuck are women and black people allowed in the same room as me?"
What do you think the founding fathers would say if you asked them: "Would it be okay that after a few generations the decedents of your slaves can buy whatever kind of gun they want?"
I would disagree about gun control laws, they have shown the be affective.
What do you say about guns being the biggest killer of children in the US? Drowning deaths among children concern me also even though there are only around 900. About 2,500 children are killed each year with a gun. You want to teach four year olds gun safety?
You wrote: "The failure of the family unit and removal of that "toxic masculinity" directly contributed to the delinquency of our kids." Show me one study that says removing toxic masculinity is bad for kids? I would suggest toxic masculinity is bad for kids. Wait, you have kids and you consider yourself to display toxic masculinity. How has it worked out for your children? Did they attend good universities or are on track to?
Have you ever wondered why you are obsessed with your guns? Does it seem psychologically healthy to you?
