Yeah, so the unelected, undemocratic leaders in Ukraine have begun to kill their own citizens, but don't worry, they're backed by the west so it's okay

(Reuters) - Ukrainian forces killed up to five pro-Moscow rebels on Thursday as they closed in on the separatists' military stronghold in the east

Ukraine's acting president accused Moscow of supporting "terrorism at the state level" against his country for backing the rebels

Right, when you limp dicks were fighting your way into power, it wasn't terrorism.. Now there's a backlash to your undemocratic rule, it's "terrorism". Get bent you power hungry sobs

The Kremlin, which says it has the right to invade its neighbor to protect Russian speakers, has built up forces on Ukraine's border - estimated by NATO at up to 40,000 troops.

I can't wait for Russia to invade and restore order. Le happening is officially about to begin le happening

Russian provocateurs should go back to Moscow.

This is the same exact circumstance that occurred under Yanukovich and caused the coup. History repeated itself fairly quickly and that coup will be reversed.

No, it's different this time. These people are terrorists, and the ones that overthrew Yanukovich were freedom fighters

/sarcasm

So, the undemocratically elected but populist government kills five separatists and you are up in arms...

but where were you when the democratically elected but unpopular government began shooting non-separatists peaceful protesters with live rounds?

I'm confident that this wasn't your intention, but your first sentence is structured in a way that leads a reader to believe that the killings would be substantially more just if the leaders were elected or democratic.

Also, these five killings don't lead to the inevitable conclusion that Russia should invade, or that such an invasion would necessarily restore order. While your opinions don't bother me, your post makes too many assumptions, and your certainty in your ideas makes me suspicious that you're more likely to engage in intellectual dishonesty.

Dodge noted.

"Killings would be substantially more just if the leaders were elected or democratic."

Wtf. Where are you getting this from?

No I'm not saying killing protesters would be more just if the leaders were elected... The fact these guys weren't even elected is salt in the wound, that's it.

When were unelected members of the legislature seated?

The only person that wasn't elected was the new President, right? But he was appointed according to the laws of the Ukraine. So calling the government unelected is like calling the US government from 1974-76 unelected.

Nothing new. US history shows the US has backed dozens of unelected officials who murder their citizens.

No way bruv. Our honest western leaders are telling us that the russians are the bad guys. Just like our completely unbiased news-broadcasts.

"Unelected" is different from "illegal". If the rules about succession are still being followed, the fact that the current government is unelected is completely irrelevant.

On exactly the same day, Russian special forces killed 4 of their own citizens in Khasavyurt.

Ukrainian troops killed between one and five anti-government fighters in the course of their operation. Russian troops killed four anti-government fighters during theirs.

Stating that Russian occupation and annexation of Ukrainian territory would 'restore order' is woefully ignorant - but I wouldn't expect anything else from TS.

Poor Ukraine, now a proxy battleground between Russia and NATO.

I think Ukraine has shown a lot of restraint so far. If armed civilians took over a police station in the US, it would be the same result.

You need to chill mate. Let me break this shit to you.

First of all there is a big difference between a protester and a separatist.

Protests (peacefull or not) was under the Ukrainian flag, people were chanting Ukraine and the revolution that took place was for the sake of the future of Ukraine.

Now what do we see in Donetsk region. At first glance people are too against the goverment, but against the unelected one. Okey, I agree. But what is the difference you ask, well they are all armed to hell. Some of them speak with russian accent. All the protests are under the russian flag and chants Russia. So I assume they want this country to split.

Now tell me how do you expect the goverment to act when you have an armed people at check points? What do you expect when the current goverment deputy has been tortured and killed in Donetsk region simply for refusing to take off the ukraininan flag from the building in Horlivka.

This is not about Maidan anymore, this not about "protecting russian citizens" you ignorant pro russian or anti whoever you are. This is about the country that trying to stay united and separatists that are trying to do the Crimea style highjack.

And if you still can't get the idea what this might lead to, I should remind you that when Chechnya tried to break away from Russia it has been carpet bombed without warning to civilians.

P.S. Oh, and in case if it does happen you will have a live correspondent at sherdog. So be gentle;-) If I'll stay alive)))

not a peep of condemnation from the West for ordering their military to kill their own citizens.

I am surprised you have the audacity to still post on the topic.
you actions on Maidan have led to this, but you were and still are too stupid to realize that every action has a reaction.
you kept telling me how I have no idea what is going on and not being there, but I was afraid for quite a while now that it would lead to a civil war. you dont need to be genius to realize that. and it has begun now. Ukrainians are killing Ukrainians.
