Over the past few weeks there have been so many conflicting UFC-related stories followed by articles and statements that aim to clarify what the 'truth' is. Far from having a clearer picture I feel even more confused and I hope someone can help me with some of these questions:
Rumble's injury: Yesterday Rumble responded angrily to rumours that he had turned down the fight against Jones and said that he infact had never accepted because he had screws put into his jaw. Then why did the official Blackzilians twitter account state that he was ready to fight just a few days earlier?
OSP getting the interim title shot: Dana said that he considered Rashad Evans for the fight against Jones but that the reason he went with OSP was that he was ranked higher than Rashad (6 and 7 respectively). So if that the choice was based on rankings, and he apparently seemed happy to pull Rashad from his fight with Glover, why wouldn't Glover be the more natural fight as he is ranked number 5?
Tate vs Nunes: Similarly, if it's all about rankings then why aren't Holm or Zingano ahead of Nunes? If it's all about win streaks then Pena's win streak is just as impressive and her last win was a lot more dominant. And if it's about money then surely Holm is a much bigger draw than Nunes?
