I just think it was night and day difference how comfortable Figgy is standing. Marlon Vera is 5'8, similar reach and that fight it just looked like Figgy couldn't find his rhythm getting inside. Guess that was sort of his style to pick shots in the later Moreno fights.Umar is definitely one of the bigger 135ers, he's just not the tallest. Considerably larger than Figgy. Definitely broader and thicker than Bautista was by a noticeable amount, maybe an inch shorter. Noticeably bigger than Merab too.
Guys like Omalley and Sandhagen aren't the epitome of "big for their division" and "size advantage" there's a reason that skinny guys built like rails are not usually champions yet everyone calls it a "size advantage".
Montel Jackson and Lok Dog are huge, ironically Figgy just beat Jackson.
But he used to be like a FLW Chuck Liddell hopping inside the pocket and launching bombs. When I watch, it just reminds me of how when I box taller guys, just like hesitating until perfect moments come. He did do pretty well against Vera to be fair. He just seems way more confident when he has the reach and size, seems like digs deep to pull out bag of tricks to win at BW.
