pff that would definitely be a fight I'd love to see. Not sure if it's in Yan's best interest tho, seems like high risk with not too big of a reward, which isn't great as he what needs now more than anything is a good win.

I don't see the UFC giving Yan Umar. He's had some rough luck so my guess is they give him a step down to see if he hasn't lost a step. I don't think he's cooked but I think really highly of Umar so giving Yan Umar on this skid would mean to me that the UFC is done with him. Looking at the rankings tho idk who he could fight. I guess if they hate Font they can let Umar wrestle f him but that seems like a more appropriate fight for Yan.

Yan was able to enforce a stalemate with Sterling having his back, with Sterling is as dangerous as they come in that position. And was likewise successfully scrambling against Merab in the very end of their fight, i.e. after nearly five constant takedown attempts from Merab. Two loses aside, Yan showed great grappling ability in both fights, and might very well be the most well rounded fighter in the UFC; to beat him you need to have an expertise where you truly excel. So, the question becomes: how good is Umar?

Hard to say, but I'd watch. Probably Umar because of the grappling. But I'd like to see Yan get paired with a striker, just a fun match up and see if he gets that fire back. Umar and Song could go for it in the meantime.
