"I struggled with the language barrier the most, I think. Languages have never been my strong suit! Claudia, Ronaldo and Jair spoke really good English and Rafael was pretty good for someone that had only been speaking it a couple of months, but Nenzao didn't speak any English (although he was absolutely hilarious when it came to miming) and as the boxing coach that was an absolute nightmare for me. I like clear verbal and physical cues for striking in a way that I rarely do for jiu-jitsu. I really appreciated any pure grappling rounds that we got in. Rolling just for the fun of it was something I missed a lot, as obviously MMA took precedence in that environment. At some point in that time frame I remember showing Lanchana rolling back takes on the floor in our bedroom whilst trying not to hit the bunk beds."
