Ultimate 80's Memories Thread - Part 2 - The 80s Strikes Back

I see you are from Toronto. I'm pretty sure that the first time I saw Dragon's Lair was in 1983 at the Ex.

Speaking of Some Kind of Wonderful, in the early 2000s I ran into Mary Stuart Masterson in Central Park. Kind of random.

Did you talk to her at all, or did you just see her in passing?

Nah, she was just walking in the other direction -- with a baby stroller IIRC. It took me a moment to realize it was her.

I wish they'd port this over to the PS4. I guess it's a bunch of 80s arcade games all on one disk.

Has anyone played this? Any good? Does it hook up to modern HD TVs?

Ha, yes, that's exactly where I saw it for the first time too. I actually hadn't been to the ex in years since I was a kid and I went back this summer with the gf. Still a fun place. I can't believe they still have that cable car ride that extends across the whole grounds

LOL - we went back to Toronto a couple of years ago and took the kids to the Ex. I hadn't been in 20+ yrs! It was better than I expected. I think it is actually better than it used to be.

Funny story: When I was kid I won a massive stuffed animal playing the ring-bottle toss game. I was telling my kids the story and got them to play a $5 game. My seven yr old hit the jackpot and I was dragging around this pink dog that was bigger than me the rest of the day.

Love it. Carl the Janitor. LOL

That's awesome. Just googled Carl the janitor and came across this article on 22 things not known about the Breakfast Club

http://mentalfloss.com/article/55851/22-things-you-might-not-know-about-breakfast-club

1. The film’s gut-wrenching heart-to-heart, where all five kids spill deep, dark secrets, was ad-libbed.

2. The movie was initially conceived of as a franchise-starter, with subsequent entries “checking in” on the characters.

3. A dream sequence, in which Allison (Ally Sheedy) imagines Andrew as a gluttonous Viking, Bender as a prisoner, Claire as a bride, Brian as an astronaut, and herself as a vampire, was cut from the final version.

4. Another scene, that featured a pair of high school teachers—Dr. Lange, a social studies teacher, and gym teacher Robin—was also chopped from the final version.

5. As a student, Carl the janitor was Shermer High's 'Man of the Year.'
