Ultimate 80's Memories Thread - Part 2 - The 80s Strikes Back

Or they get cancelled before making any impact like Crime Story and Max Headroom. Dramas pretty much sucked back then before the 2000s. Only a handful would be considered quality shows today as you pointed Hill Street Blues and add to that the Fugitive, Twilight Zone ,Twin Peaks,Oz, NYPD Blue and the X-files

St. Elsewhere is a top 20 all time drama.

I got Dalton. Road House!

Thank god this thread, and the last, survived. Too much good stuff in either to have lost them. I frequently look back over both.

Used to watch a show back in the 80s called That's Incredible

I just discovered a movie for the first time ever last night that I had no idea even existed. I'd never ever heard of it before. So I watched it and from beginning to end I freaking loved it!

The Burbs
Date: 1989
Directed by: Joe Dante
Composer: Jerry Goldsmith
Starring: Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman, Bruce Dern.....

I LOVED this movie. Seeing it was like finally being able to take a breath of fresh air. Almost all of the modern movies in Hollywood have become so sterile and desensitizing that a simple little picture like this was enough to really get me excited again. The movie was fantastic.

I remember when Reebok pumps first came out. I lived in Europe and they cost like $300 in eighties exchange rates!

I saw them perform this live.

Before they hit the stage, they played videos on the big screen (because eighties) and when Don't You Forget About Me came on people launched beer bottles at the screen.

Been listening to some Patty Smyth recently. Really love a lot of her stuff. Goddamned it, these vids make me wish time travel was possible.

Ha cool, that would have been awesome!

Pirate bay is just about to get plundered.

I saw so many awesome shows back in the eighties when tickets were twenty bucks.

The Cult, The Mission, The Cure, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Pogues (With Joe Strummer), Sisters of Mercy, to name a few.
