International UK mandatory ID cards?

I get what you mean but when I was there the govt still had a lot of old processes, we coild do some things entirely online yet some things had to be done via post. The nhs as well was a weird mix of some info was avaliable on an app while other info was only paper based and posted to you
It doesn't matter how outdated the government is, it's how up to date the security services and police are.

The government and their Toadies are fucking morons. The security apparatus are the embodiment of efficiency

Ah well good luck then. I wonder how long until you need your digital ID to access sherdog and posts like this see your asda privileges getting revoked

fuck this, is all I will say, and fuck the cashless society too whilst I am at it.

I don't get why lib Dems aren't going with a strong stance on immigration. I think most people would rather vote for them than Reform.

bless their hearts I don't picture them as having a strong stance on anything unless it involves compulsory hummus at Party Conference

This has been Blairs wet dream since forever. I'm not sure exactly why though, although my gut feeling is it's something to do with having a biometrics database

I don't think anyone outside of the UK truly appreciates just how tracked we are, to the the point that I see ID cards as meaningless. Nearly everything is digitised now.

When I visit the US everything still feels analogue. So many places still don't use contactless cards, let alone Google wallet
And by Blair's, your mean our Zionist overlords.

Well yes and no. They've made great strides in actually processing the people but they've not reduced the numbers from what I gather.

This is just population control.
They anyway does have very strict population control damn long ago.

However to except that all local pensioners and not all local cleaners etc does use computers alone is big fun. This isn't meant as offense, if someone doesn't needs this ( internet ) for everyday life then ...it is real life.
Plus control mechanisms for benefits etc are enough strict also for locals.
They aren't idiots....

Then will be other stuff and quickly....
Will be.

In other sites will post like they are posting in LinkedIn In etc. ..such posts content.
To show all the best according to trend etc...to get hired or otherwise.
Motivation letters and CVs panel type stuff....

Wasn't this the conspiracy theory? Flood the country with immigrants then when people have had enough bring in the solution, digital ID and 24/7 surveillance.

Honestly this is probably gearing towards the planned end game of a social credit system.

The security services that dropped the ball on 7/7, the London Bridge Attack and the Manchester Arena Bombing, to name but three?

British police are world leaders at cracking down on hardened criminals posting Mean Words online, I'll give you that.

I just don't understand this latest move by Starmer, he is already walking on thin ice. I think he genuinely wants to be ousted out or he is clueless at reading the room. Surely somebody cannot be this out of touch.

I think this may lead into using digital ID to enter supermarkets and building up a profile of people where records can be lodged against your name.

He's panic-wrestling because Reform are eating his lunch right now. This idea is so shit that even the retards in the Tory and Lib Dem parties won't back it.

All about control
The Gestapo will be allowed even more powers against the public

Conservative estimates state that there are 40'000 individuals who present an active risk of commiting an attack. When I was in that world there was 1 attack stopped per week.

To quote the IRA "we only have to be lucky once. You have to be lucky every single time"

Interestingly how most notable terrorism and crimes stuff in U.K had been done in era without mobile phones?
Definitely they even needed internet then?
Will they tackle with them their own phones when will do crimes ?
OK, dumb hooligans even might post their shit in internet.. not skilled seasoned criminals....

How might fight with illegal immigrants if you will install some stuff in your device, manufactured in China, with firmware developed in China? and firmware is " below " level. " below " OS, not even to talk about user soft type stuff....

Does all pensioners needs to purchase smartphones, computers and pay for internet connection? If yes, then why?
A lot of them just does have bank account and card, that's all. How much papers they are signing? Maybe 1x per year, so why they need digital signature etc stuff... to pay for internet connection and smart devices?

When you get the card how do you log in to see it or is it a password? Does it need a phone with biometrics, like fingerprints or face scan?

I wonder if your phone is stolen is your ID usable by a gang? Then what? You need another phone or PC to call up and get the ID suspended? It seems a phone is more likely to get lost than a passport or driving licence.

But if on holiday a digital ID could be easier if you lost your passport and need to go to an embassy.

If it can be used to prove right to work or study, meaning people don't have to pay to update their ID as often, that's good and will benefit many, particularly those on the breadline or who don't have the necessary professional, non-familial contacts to get a first passport so quickly (since the first one requires co-signing by someone who's known you for several years, isn't family and is from a list of particular professions). Removing barriers to work and study for those who have the legal right, ability and willingness to do so is always good for the economy, society and social mobility. "Oh, you want to do a course, but have an expired British passport, a driving licence with a recent old address, extensive tax and address records with other government departments, copies of bills, can take photos of yourself with your passport...no, we only accept a photo of a valid passport, because some senior civil servant said so". Nonsensical bureaucracy.

Tackling illegal immigration is a bullshit excuse, it'll be used to more easily arrest people for wrongthink

Are they having trouble with that right now?

The level of whining from European right wingers here about illegal immigrants is absolutely staggering. Our friend @Croo67 has an autistic-like focus on this, for example.

This seems like it could help with this issue. Don't have your ID card? You're here illegally.

In modern era ppl usually does have at least 2 physical (!) documents : physical passport and physical ID card.
Plus other papers too ofc.

To add to this mandatory " digital " stuff looks huge bireucracy on top.

Well, it's pretty obvious they need to do something about immigration, but with everything else going on in the UK, I don't like the idea of this kind of ID. They will probably use it to arrest you for saying something mean on Facebook (literally). The UK is a bit too 1984ish already.
