International UK mandatory ID cards?

In Texas, a mandatory ID is required when operating a vehicle, voting, or flying domestically (with a REAL ID), and you must identify yourself upon lawful arrest. You are not required to carry a photo ID at all times if you are not driving or otherwise exempt. A person can be charged with a misdemeanor for failing to identify themselves when lawfully arrested.

I just don't understand this latest move by Starmer, he is already walking on thin ice. I think he genuinely wants to be ousted out or he is clueless at reading the room. Surely somebody cannot be this out of touch.

I think this may lead into using digital ID to enter supermarkets and building up a profile of people where records can be lodged against your name.

Did you see that Andy Burnham launched a pseudo-challenge on his position as Labour leader?

And that Labour MP's backed Starmer?

<WhatIsThis>

That party is lost. They don't seem to have any idea about public sentiment at the minute, which even when you're not focusing on the frustrated right, is pretty much in the shitter for the left, too.

I don't know what they're trying to do, they're going to get drubbed as you say.

I think that might be getting ahead of ourselves just yet but get where you're coming from.

I could barely use my iphone to pay for parking in Fresno, my step dad in England barely knows his way around the internet. He isn't of working age som hopefully he won't be part of the plan but seems a bit scary if you still have a flip phone.

I don't have a major issue with this depending on what it's used for to be honest. If it's just for government related stuff then I don't have a problem with it. We have digital IDs for most things anyway. My passport, driving license and NHS records are all digital.

Yes, the party is lost. This move right now seems to be adding more fuel to the right and even lefty voters will not like this idea. It's mind boggling to implement this considering how much slack Starmer is getting right now. I give Starmer until mid next year before he closes the door.

You show your phone to immigration when you enter countries and go back to the UK? When did that happen? What happens if you lose your phone?

I guess their theory is that people don't like the tories either and that when Reforms policies actually get held up to scrutiny people will figure out that they haven't actually got any policies that are financially viable.

I mean that all the information is digitally held so you could easily have it on an app.

If you lost your phone then the app would just be transferrable to your new phone.

Tackling illegal immigration is a bullshit excuse, it'll be used to more easily arrest people for wrongthink

They wouldn't need a digital ID for that. They could force websites to verify you without that as they have been doing with porn sites.
