We talked about BLEXIT in the other thread, now it's time for a BREXIT update.

The key party, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) made its mark with BREXIT. You may recall Nigel Farage having his bragging rights of once being a fringe politician working his way into the mainstream. Dubious tactics like writing on the side of buses fictitious costs of the free labour zone on the health care system seemed to have struck a cord with voters.

Farage has left the party, and to fill the void, we have additions to the party including youtube online intellectual Carl Benjamin who guys by the handle of Sargon of Akkad. Despite his educational background being "unknown", Mr. Benjamin recently took over the "unofficial" mantle of most important intellectual alive from Noam Chomsky.

Apparently Mr. Benjamin has had his Milo moment, having made claims of sexual relations with children being ok.

Apparently UKIP is also fielding another youtube celebrity who's claim to fame is teaching his dog to do the Nazi/Ingram salute.

With the influence of social media, it looks like UKIP might be ahead of the curve on the competition. Is it only a matter of time before the UKIP overtakes Labour or the Conservatives in the British house of parliament?

Meh, it seems that they have new competition from the Brexit Party, but their niche isn't going anywhere. Even after it became undeniable that UKIP and the Tories had no clue whatsoever what they were going to do if their Brexit campaign succeeded, their supporters continued to insist on living in a dream world where Brexit wasn't a total con job. That core group of supporters - the vast majority of whom voted on the primary basis of immigration - will be solidly supportive of UKIP for the foreseeable future and certainly until Brexit actually occurs.

Sargon going for the Muslim vote.

It could also be that right-wingers have a habit of making "public intellectuals" of total weirdo creeps of still-below-average intelligence.

While that case was ongoing, Gariepy lost a guardianship dispute over an autistic 19-year-old whom a counselor assessed as having “the social and mental maturity of a 10- or 11-year-old child.” Gariepy, who met the young woman online and entered into a sexual relationship with her, claimed in court that the young woman was his pregnant fiancée, although blood tests revealed that she was not pregnant.

In an interview, Gariepy denied allegations that he had acted improperly and that he had attempted to marry or impregnate women for U.S. immigration purposes, calling the allegations a smear campaign by “leftist women.”

I think @Limbo Pete is the one that called out this guy being quoted by right-wingers here.

Nah that wasn't me

UKIP has absolutely hemorrhaged support to the new BREXIT party, they got wiped out in the local elections two days ago, all but 3 of their MEP's have resigned in protest, and they are currently polling at around 2-5%. I seems pretty clear that UKIP was a political vehicle for Nigel Farage alone because without him they seem lost.

This sounds absurd to me. With Sargon of Akkad, I don't see how they can't skyrocket to the top of the UK political scene. Is this a case of people falling for fake news, and not understanding that Sargon of Akkad is the future of politics in the UK? Seems that Europe may indeed be lost.

No you see the problem is that UKIP is over promoting Sargon. Clearly the real star of the new UKIP is Count Dankula, once he starts campaigning the tories and Labs are toast.

It seems like we might have a real modern day Game of Thrones between Sargon of Akkad and Count Dankula.

Whining about opinion pieces on the Guardian and reading out Daily Mail articles on youtube must be the new way to get in to politics.

The smear campaign on the Sargon dude has been pretty hilarious to observe.

Just shows what sort of gutter trash the UK media is, and how frightened they are by the prospect of an "alternative" media guy becoming someone to take seriously, rather than passed off as fringe.

Gerard Batten seems like a good guy and I like much of what he has to say, but he is a bit out of touch with this and has massively overestimated the stock value of youtube 'edge lords' like Sargon and Count Dankula. Who lets face it, are a couple of clowns. It does reek of an old guy trying to be 'down with kids' and failing miserably tbh. Most people have no clue who these type of characters are and for those who do, it's one thing nodding in agreement with a youtube video, or finding it ridiculous to arrest someone for getting their dog to do a Nazi salute, but voting for them is a different matter entirely.

But even with UKIP's failings, the big story is that Labour and Conservative still got hammered at the locals which was good to see. But the real message will be sent on the 23rd with the MEP elections, where the Brexit Party will smash it and could even pass the 40% mark which would be unprecedented. Polling reports also suggest a record number of spoiled papers at these locals with many people just writing 'Brexit' on them which doesn't surpise me. Tommy Robinson is also standing as in independant and I hope to god he wins just to see the tears and tantrums. 40% for Farage and a Tommy Robinson win, it will be glorious.

Sargon's pedo quote is even less credible than Bernie's rape quote, considering that it was parsed out of 4 different conversations, in some of which he was talking about the ancient Greek traditions, which he denounced, and another on how the media might quote him as a pedo, which they did.

This is just trashy papers like Daily mail and The Sun doing their thing.

Just be well-aware that they can do your boy in just as dirty as they've done this guy.

This coming from a man who had absolutely no problem with the industrial scale, systimatic mass rape of young girls that happened up and down the country under his parties watch, as Muslim votes are more important. Who forced out the one member of his party who tried to speak out about it and then promoted another who said the victims need to keep their mouths shut. Then these pieces of shit wonder why ordinary people hate them.

Damn Sargon made it big time. Dig the clean cut look.

He does apparently have the time to be outraged about a guy saying intentionally silly quotes on a YouTube video clearly made for comedic purposes (in which he never actually says that he will rape anybody, but rather, that he won't).

If Sargon is so inconsequential and just a youtube edge lord, someone forgot to to tell the mainstream media. It is hilarious to read some of the headlines and articles. They seem to always refer to him as UKIP'S "star candidate" and then proceed to write flat out falsehoods about him. Maybe it is just a tactic to damage the party rather than truly being worried about him as an individual but it sure seems like he has them trembling.

For anyone interested in watching, this video breaks down the deception pretty well.
