He is getting him down if he wants to. Murican wrasslin, don't underestimate it.

Too lazy/busy to break it down again but I typed something up maybe 2-3 pages back
If he tries taking Latifi down he's going to have an uppercut waiting for him. Hard to take down someone who's smaller than you but built like a fire hydrant, especially a guy who's a national wrestling champion with 100% takedown defense

I mean, I could be wrong, but I feel pretty sure Latifi has never thrown an intercept uppercut ever lol I don't recall him ever throwing an uppercut period. Hes got t-rex arms, not the best strike for him to throw.

I went over this before, Latifi is a good wrestler, but (sorry Swedes) its not comparable to the level Bader's achieved. He would smoke Ilir in a wrestling match (at least he should but who knows how training MMA for the past 10+ years would change that), and he should have no problem getting the better of any and all wrestling exchanges. Was kind of surprised Bader has been saying he'll look out for the threat of the td, but hes a respectful guy. In reality, Ilir isn't outwrestling Bader at all.

Fun fact: Latifi only has a 1 inch shorter reach than Bader

I really don't see a finish in Askham v hermansson here. -165 feels generous.. Cap it -200 if not higher

Not a bad play if coupled with Askham in round 1. Thats easily the most likely way I see this finishing

Lol @ t-rex arms, they are long af for his height and honestly good luck taking Latifi down.

Latifi has never even fought anyone who wrestled outside of high school, nevermind the level Bader has achieved. You'll see. Murican wrasslin >>>>

BTW Daniel Cormier, the best MMA wrestler of all time and a guy who trains with Cain, said Latifi is the strongest guy he's ever trained with

Re: Lap/Issa

So the base of Lap's game is that he's a moving southpaw. He is always moving laterally to constantly reset his feet. Issa has to his disposal, the outside left kick, and the inside right kick but it needs to travel to hit that, and I believe Lap hits him first if he's the one pressuring forward by putting Issa onto his back foot.

Issa's wrestling just isn't great for some reason despite his accolades. He isn't a physical guy either, he's more of a slick transitional grappler if you decide to play the scramble with him. I'm not sure how you can reach the pinnacle of BJJ with limited abilities to get the fight to the floor. So I don't know if he's able to use that TD threat to press forward. He can try and time a reactive TD if Lap reaches from tape I've watched. But Lap isn't one to swing for the fences and throw himself off balance to get taken down.

While I agree Lap is very green (ill advised guillotine against Perez) and has long ways to go in developing his game, he does has a good base. I can see holes in his game that can be exploited today by Issa. Though it can be bridged with experience and if he gets outta France to train somewhere else. He fancies himself a striker yet has just 1 KO. Maybe he doesn't sit down on his punches and throws with power at all.

Overall, I'd like to see if Lap can handle himself tangled up with Issa and if he's able to dirty fight, because if so, he's got it on the bag forsure.

Nah I bet Latifi doesn't get taken down once
I'd sig bet who scores more tds or, being objective, who gets the better of the grappling. But I can see Bader jabbing and low kicking to a decision so Latifi not getting taken down wouldn't surprise me
Cormier would have ragdolled Bader
DC would take down just about anyone at LHW, but there would be no ragdolling. Keep in mind besides maybe some 1-2 second takedowns from Phil Davis, Bader has never been taken down either

I don't know how you can think Bader survives 3 rounds without getting clipped or doing something stupid. If Latifi doesn't KO him I think he'll do what he did to Villante and just pressure against the fence for 3 rounds

I'm worried about him doing something stupid, especially when thats been costing me far too many bets recently. But I don't think that highly of Latifi. Hes swedish Big Country in a lot of ways imo. Real powerful, solid wrestling, but standing his effectiveness is limited to an powerful overhand and his cardio isn't very good.

I have no doubt that there is no chance he hugs Bader against the cage. Latifi is nowhere near a high enough level to do so.

Now I know you're trippin. That flying switch kick KO has clouded your judgement
