UFC's Conor ass kissing is embarassing

In retrospect, TUF noobs weren't all that bad. It was the Brock wave that really put the nail in the coffin. A part of me died when I realized that the forum was at least 50% grown men who watched WWE. Sad.
It's unfortunate that you didn't realize that forever, pro wrestling and mma have been linked.

The Brock crew was probably a few pro wrestling fans. There were already tons here before Brock came along dude.

There has been a pro wrestling sub forum for as long as I've posted here....

The worst fans are stupid mma fans. There are plenty of them. That's it.

Watched the latest TUF episode. First, Conor insists on teammates getting into the show, despite it being questionable if they are qualified. Then, he doesn't do the drug testing that would allow him to fight in the next six months, so Chandler left hanging.

Finally, during the show, Conor fails to show up for his fighter's weigh in or fight.

If this were anyone else, Dana would go ballistic and kick them off the show.

I know the UFC wants to use Conor to draw viewers to a show that's getting old and tired, but it's pathetic how Dana will let Conor do shit like this and still be a coach.

UFC is falling apart, scrambling to find any big name they can attach the brand to in hopes of holding on a little longer.
Your mistake was watching anything Dana or Conor related, let it be a lesson to you. Ha

Paul Dauley got banned for his punch on Kos. Someone else got it for pushing a ref. Conor does all that inside and out the cage against old people and refs and fuck all happens.

Are you telling me that a show he's the star of is giving him special treatment?

Wow, I have never seen this before.

It would be embarrassing if it was just them clinging onto the last big star they have, and that was the full scope of things. What actually makes it bad is the fact that he's had so much trouble in his personal life from the sexual assault accusations settled out of court, drug allegations, the latest thing with USADA, etc so its not like they're holding onto some good role model, Conor is a ticking time bomb in his own personal life but the UFC is happy to roll out the red carpet for him all the same like he's some returning hero, in the name of corporate profits.

They don't care that he's a bad person and probably sexually assaulted women (4-5 settlements, where there's smoke there's fire), they only care that they can still wring dollars from him. Similar deal with Jones attacking his wife then being brought back like a returning hero a year later, because he's financially useful to this publicly traded company. This is cutthroat capitalism at it's worst.

Haven't watched. I will stay off of Sherdog for half a year or so, and when the season of TUF comes to a conćlusion, I'll be back.

That's how much I care. Why the fuck would I want to havea great season of TUF spoiled by sherdoggers who pretend to not care about TUF?

Yeah. See you, hypocrates. Or hippopotamus, not sure of the spelling.

The correct spelling would be Hypocrites.

On a separate note, you did almost reference Hippocrates. The Greek . He’s the father of modern medicine, and where the term Hippocratic oath is derived.

UFC is a business. They care about integrity of the sport and PR only if it affects their bottom line. Just like a YouTube algorithm of suggested videos, they keep throwing sh:t against the wall to see what gets fans interested, and push that to its extreme until the interest is used up. Then, it's on to the next thing. Conor still generates interest, so he gets a pass.

The Burger King Coq Roq commercials perfectly represent what UFC thinks of its newish (like 15 years ago) fans.

Jobs you get paid percentage the more you earn the more your ass gets kissed. Any profession.
Like that movie, Glengarry Glen Ross.

Obviously they will cater to their biggest star ….it’s the way the world works

Your name is big Corey ….let’s not act like you’re better then people

You can see that Conor only shows up when the camera is on him. I dont believe for a second he gives a shit, Chandler is going to suck to up him to because his a company man.

More like, I’m an MMA fan, which is still quite fringe in most circles, so I shouldn’t have a superiority complex over WWE fans. And it’s “than”, not “then”.

I realize that there’s an origins story there that has a lot to do with catch wrestling in Japan and Carlos Gracie training with Maeda. Josh Barnett always talks about this, as does Ariel, to a lesser extent. That was a long time ago, though, and I’m not talking about origins. MMA as a sport has diverged, and aside from the minority of fans who happen to enjoy both MMA and pro wrestling, and the handfull of crossover athletes, these “sports” exist in different bubbles. The crossover Brock fans weren’t really into any martial arts at all. It was a lot of shit talking about how MMA fighters are pussies and how Brock was able to become champ with relative ease.

You don’t have to defend being a pro wrestling fan, I’m just breaking balls. I have friends that still watch. The truth is, being a UFC fan is equally embarrassing, sometimes. Ok….most times.

And the sub forum is likely due to the fact that Jeff Sherwood also happened to be a huge wrestling fan. It was his forum, so why not combine two things that he’s into?

Side question, what’s with the broken bat?

Yeah, but pre-Brock most of them knew to shut the fuck up about that stupid shit, and the pro wrestling forum grew probably from japanese pro wrestling which was much more closely associated with MMA than the homoerotic USA version.

Pre-brock any 'how would [pro wrestler] do in MMA?' threads got wastelanded pretty much instantly.

Conor doesn't have to do anything except show up and throw tantrums every now and then and the ratings will still be better than with any other coach possible by an enormous margin. It gives more exposure to the contestants regardless.

Who cares if he's not there coaching as he should? It's not like he's an actual coach. He's a slimebag. It's entertainment television. Conor makes people tune in. It's that simple.
