"UFC will be the biggest sport in the world by 2020"

The fun part about necro troll threads is seeing all the people who were banned. And most of those who managed to survive have yellows

Well, I don't think that will come true by long shot.

But if someone said the UFC would sell for over 4 billion dollars and carry a 6+ Billion dollar value in 2019 nine years ago 99% of Sherdog would laugh at you. Yet here we are.

I think for the UFC to take the next big step globally is getting the massive sponsorship deals in place that support the UFC fully. Those corps can give the UFC and certain fighters massive marketing appeal across many platforms of media and cost the UFC nothing. That is what will help grow the sport even further.

MMA is niche. Most people don’t like watching violence.

Soccer is cheap to play that’s why it is and has always been a massive sport in almost every country.

Dana is a retard.

Those in MMA need to realize the next level of growth is going to be close to as difficult as it took to get to where it is today: More hard work, creative solutions for newly encountered problems, addressing problems that have persisted for a while, you name it.

If/when MMA gets regulated under the Ali act, then it will become the biggest sport.

If they ever cure Alzheimer's and CTE and other Neuron degenerative diseases/disorders, literally every non-combat sport will virtually end, or at least become second rate compared to combat ones.

Lol, most people don’t give a shit about watching people fight, you’re not gonna get 3 year olds into it, women etc

Combat sports on the world scale can’t compete with ball sports, Tennis is bigger than MMA + Boxing combined lol

Handball is just as cheap. Kids aren't playing handball in the streets, or basketball in Europe. People genuinely enjoy soccer. I don't, but it's obvious that most do.

This is straight up not true. Combat sports have historically always been the biggest events and sports in the world. The past 2 decades are actually very strange anomalies in comparison to the entirety of human history and major sporting evens since the invention of radio and television.

Ever since the original Olympics in ancient Greece, the combat sports were always the most popular events, with pankration (which is MMA) being the biggest of them all. During Ali's time/era boxing was bigger than all the ball sports globally, including soccer.

What you're saying is straight up false. Humans are innately and biologically are drawn to watching violence and combat more than they are to playing games. EVERYONE likes watching fights. It's due to the discovery of neuron degenerative disorders and such that turn off young men and viewers from pursuing/watching combat sports, as well as the fighter pay. But under the Ali act, MMA fighters would be paid better, and if we cured CTE, then young men wouldn't be deterred from pursuing it.

There is no athletic achievement higher in prestige than being the Heavyweight champion. It outranks every other athletic achievement and the champion outranks every other athlete. This is known to everyone even if they personally prefer watching other sports more than combat sports. In fact, the only people who seem to deny this are a handful of weird losers on sherdog.

Do people who regurgitate this shit actually know what the Ali act is?

It's not even enforced in it's namesake sport of boxing lol.

Never. Those of us that enjoy combat sports are just a small group compared to those that dont.

@Regal Boy Ali act? HAHA!

Ali act is not good for MMA aka UFC ... MAYBE (HUGE MAYBE) a modified version of the Ali act.
