There's a big difference between all things being inherenttly political in nature and turning a sporting event into a political rally.

That was just obnoxious. I loath Trump and his nepobaby daughter and her nepobaby husband (both of who sold your country out to SA among other shit they got up to in positions gifted to them through nepotism they were not even remotely qualified for) but any politician and his propaganda machine being platformed like that at a sporting event would piss me off. After last night I'll no longer pay for ppvs and I ordered UFC 1 on tape before it even aired. Last night was too much.

Imagine if you had to watch UFC events that plaformed , say Hilary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi like that (I'd be super annoyed as I hate those two as well).

Most politicians at sporting events get shown in thier box once, maybe twice. Trump was fu--king featured at this event as were his cronies. Gtfo of the sport I love.

They didn't say ANYTHING about his policy. He was a fucking president - of course he is a celebrity and they are going to show him.

It's not like Anik started discussing his policies and told people to vote for him.

Edit actually if you're a wrestling fan like me you'll understand what getting the rub means. Platforming in this way is similar in a political sense to getting the rub off being placed with a star - with differences that are not difficult to puzzle out.

Ps I loath Biden almost as much as Trump. He's earned the nickname of Genocide Joe... among other things. If I was able to vote in the US I'd still vote for Biden over Trump though as Trump is a existential threat to US democracy and world safety ( as well as all the other crap things about him).

I didn't get the political rally aspect at all. They showed him and the crowd applauded.. literally nothing was said about his politics whatsoever. It's really as simple as him being a celebrity and enjoying fights. Don't overthink this.

I don't like either candidate, but to screech and cry about this is wayyy too much for me.

Dude, you must have missed a lot. They showed Trump a lot. Between fights, before fights; he was seated right behind a corner so was between rounds. They showed him coming in and after the event he was again featured leaving. It was way more than ususal and even then I hate it.

To be honest I hate royals, celebrities, political aspirants whomever using sports to boost themselves through media attention. If they are fans, cool, go to the event, enjoy it and stay off camera. Show the fing fans, show rhe fighters, they make the sport then the celebrities turn up like vultures. I hate it.

There were no politicians, celebrities et at the early Nhb events, just fans, crew and fighters. Those fighters are now mostly poor with brain damage. Feature them ffs. Not the Johnny come latelies who sacrificed nothing to build this sport.
