News UFC/TKO is requesting an amendment change to the Ali Act

congress draws up new legislation, senate confirms it, the president signs it into law. it may sound like a difficult thing to do, but congress and senate are currently doing everything the president asks them to do, and dana is besties with him. it's going to happen, they have at least 2 years to do this, possibly 4.
Pro boxers from one side are as independent contractors...ofc they does have contracts with team, gyms, agents, managers and promoters and so on.
Still they are business not employees.
Dana is . .like from one point like this, from other point wants to be like employeer and fighter is like employee in office if it is comfortable for Dana?
Shitload with clauses and prohibitions, restrictions etc bla bla bla etc.

Normally burger flipper does have more freedom, he might grow till shift manager, later till point manager ( burger flippers " restsurant " ) and change jobs too.

Not likely boxers will be happy with Dana, unless he will offer big sign up bonuses.......
Pro boxers are more free to choose advertisement and endorsement deals etc stuff etc....

The UBO or whatever will have it's champion, touted as the best in the world, but because Dana won't allow for cross promotion we'll never see him fight any champions outside of the league. It'll be Pride vs UFC all over again.

I'm not sure why you used the adjective to describe the corporation as greedy. Obviously corporations are greedy, but you're phrasing it like the promoters in boxing are not greedy, when they have the same exact goals and ethics as the UFC.

As for there only being 2/3 guys in each division worth watching...I mean if you're not a big fan, then yes. Then you could say the same exact thing for boxing. It's the norm for people to call everyone outside hte top 2 guys in a division bums in boxing fandom.

Plumbers make more money than both boxers and MMA fighters, so not really a great example there. Fighting isn't a real job.

I still hope this doesn't happen in boxing, but you're making it seem like boxing is some great wonderland of athletics when it's just as degenerate of an industry as MMA. Boxing is just as ruthless, if not more so than MMA.
Plumber anyway isn't mandatory super low skill guy. They does have courses, additional courses etc, also might have certs etc.
It isn't so unskilled job at all. More than this, plumbers does have also reputation they should earn and this too does take time.

Like, ohh, I had used plumber xx, now 3 years everything is working smoothly....
Bad reputation too is easy to earn btw...

Reality is that yes, pro fighters anyway not rare cases are putting in more money than they are earning for their first pro fights.
If you aren't some kind of am star easily to google up, so easier to get sponsors and ad deals etc.... or someone will invest in you enough.

You need sport nutrition, a lot of time for exercises, good training camps, sparrings, time to rest etc... all this takes $ and also timw you might had to spend in order to earn something
....

When you had climbed up in rankings, proved that with you is possible to sell tickets etc, then..might start to earn some real money....

Ofc might earn also as journeyman but the worse will be fight record and ranking : lesser $ for fight etc. Till bottom of possible paycheck sizes...

Ofc if you are over the hill but still do have some not so bad resume, already relatively safe opponent for prospects, then more lucrative to book you for B side....
Again till time...when L accumulated too much, ranking dropped too low so lesser attractive to book you in order to improve prospects resume...

Pride had lesser restrictions than UFC.

Zuffa Boxing will be part of the new Unified Boxing Organizations (UBOs). Who else will be part of them? Will Turki recruit Queensberry and Matchroom. Will everybody now have to take sides either you are UBO, WBA, WBC, IBF?

I heard Turki already got control of WBA made them switch to FightFax for ranking. Not working yet FightFax not a smart AI. I know Dana wants a smart AI doing ranking. A smart AI will take into account stuff like Dana White privilege.

WBC uses BoxRec the one we all use for rankings but the head of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimanov has been making deals with Turki he looks to cave in to Turki wishes.

IBF uses BoxRec and seems to be UBO's main challenge. Unless these other organizations stand up.

But we will see how they make/seduce these promotions to UBO.

Nick Khan will be in charge of UBO and Dana in charge of Zuffa Boxing?

Will the Ring have their own stable of fighters under UBO or will they be under Sela?

Or how else will this get played out?

Note- There's no evidence that Turki Alalshikh prevented Canelo Alvarez from displaying his WBC belt. While there was an incident at a face-off where the WBC belt wasn't included in a photo op, with Turki Alalshikh holding the undisputed and Ring Magazine belts, it's unclear if this was intentional or a misunderstanding. Some interpreted it as a statement about the future of boxing belts, but WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has denied claims that Alalshikh told Canelo not to include the belt.

While they does care mainly about pro boxing records not fighters records in other sport or am boxing.
Fight Fax more modern version IMHO.

while turki is pulling the rug from under them, props to oscar for being the only one with the balls to fuck him off

Ben Askren was a bad example. Dana did pay and Ben said he could not believe he even heard from Jake Paul and Masadov.

I never liked the trade between Mighty Mouse and Ben. Ben did not last long in UFC he became like hundreds of ufc fighters out the door so quick. So I was surprised when Dana stepped up.. Jake supposed paid him millions to knock out Ben who never did have boxing down.

Ali Act and Jake's exhibition fights he says are real do not add up.

A misleading analogy. Keep living in denial.

1. Create a UFC of boxing. Award titles, keep fighters under contract, match up elite fighters each time out, no tune ups or cab drivers, ignore old sanctioning bodies, and stack cards.

2. Cut fighter pay drastically to ensure the venture is economically rational. Slash their pay to the bone. Make sure the promoters secure the bulk of the cash as they are the ones turning a failing business into a successful one.

3. Reduce the number of weight classes to the classic eight.

4. Reduce the number of rounds - 5 for regular bouts, 9 for world title fights - to ensure a better fit for modern TV audience which needs to sit through many fights on a card. Cultivate new fans. Long bouts are often dull. Shorter is better, like kickboxing.

5. Most importantly ignore anyone currently involved in the business or deluded critics on Sherdog.

you keep repeating the same tired lines that have been repeated by similar idiots for the past 30 years.

it's such a horrible declining business that promoters keep making events and fighters keep fighting in them. but we need to gut all regulation and let the bald buffoon take over the sport, cut everyone's purses and give us a shitty product, because when the promotion collects 90% of the revenue that is somehow better for the sport.

don't worry, they will fuck things up eventually. dana isn't up trump's ass 24/7 for the joy of it, he will get his return on investment. it just isn't the magical solution to your made up problem that you pretend it is. it's just horrible people fleecing athletes.
Dunning Kruger in action...

Yet they follow the law as prescribed by the Ali Act. TKO doesn't want to compete with those guys with boxers having the protections they do. As far King it's a great example of why the Ali Act was crafted in the first place.

Are you a longtime boxing fan? Do you really want boxers put into the same position as UFC fighters that Dana can squeeze at his whim and pay 10% of the profits? Peanuts for the up and comers while they risk great bodily harm.
King wasn't like Dana. Not even close. Lots of people got rich with him and yes he could be greedy when the need arised but nothing like the entire mma world.

Nigeria’s LPMG Global joins forces with Dana White and HE Turki Alalshikh

Africa’s premier boxing management firm, LPMG Global, is reportedly preparing to send nearly half its roster to the newly launched Zuffa Boxing promotion, spearheaded by Dana White and the Saudi Royal. Co-led by Nelson Aiyelabowo and Malik Annur, LPMG Global has cultivated top-tier talent such as Anthony Yigit, Isaac Ekpo, and Ghana’s Hamed, and currently manages some of the most exciting rising fighters across the continent.

Among their standout prospects is Solomon ‘Iron Fist’ Adebayo, who, at just 19, boasts an almost flawless stoppage rate and is widely seen as Nigeria’s most formidable heavyweight, and has recently captured the WBA Africa Heavyweight Title. Also on the roster is Chibuike ‘African Fury’ Ogbuagu, a promising heavyweight whose nickname pays tribute to Tyson Fury, who reportedly supports him. And the talent doesn’t stop there.

Joining the team would be the 17-year-old Raheem Animashaun, the current West African Boxing Union lightweight champion, who is already recognized as one of Africa’s most promising young fighters. Moreover, featherweights Dolapo Imole and Tope Musa Tajudeen also round out the rising talent under LPMG’s banner.

According to a report from Punch News earlier today, the potential partnership with Dana White and HE Turki Alalshikh’s new boxing venture could offer global exposure for Africa’s next wave of stars and might represent a game-changing moment for the continent’s boxing future.

As I understand FightFax is the older version thrown out for BoxRec.

*WBA (Turki convinced them to switch back to FightFax) Panama: the World Boxing Association, In an aggressive move against BoxRec, the WBA, sponsored by Turki Alalshikh, has brought back FightFax.

The guy behind FightFax for decades, Anibal Miramontes, died in 2021. It looks like maybe his next of kin sold it to the WBA and Turki Alasheik, there are rumors that Turki already has made an offer for BoxRec. And of course He also bought the Ring Magazine which used to be important at rating boxers.

boxing must be shitting itself, all of the amazing Nigerian fighters knocking about getting paid a fortune to headline PPVs all over the world

this is just going to create a small league Boxing company with the UFC model, all of the good fighters simply wont sign up

This is a clarion call for mediocre MMA fighters who hate the grappling aspect of MMA but know they aren't world class boxers, they will flock to these small ponds to be medium sized fish and talk and hype will try to convince the public that they are the best in the world. Funny how the UFC was never considered to be better than PRIDE until it imploded and they bought the remnants.

The offer to fighters is pretty simple, we will pay you more up front and offer some benefits, but if you turn out to be an ATG, we are going to cap your earnings, control who and when you fight and make 100x what we invested in you early. Promoters do this too but fighters can't be blackballed by a promoter, they can't be shut out of rankings and title matches, curbing their careers. This whole act is about making a monopoly. It won't be the current top fighters getting taken in by this but the next generation of guys being sold this fairytale. The US with its shitty amateur program will be the most directly affected by this because there's no money in it for young fighters to make a living, that's really all this program offers, selling out your future to barely make "a living" early on after everyone gets paid, from trainers to mangers etc, guys will still need another job.

Sounds like they got a start in Africa .

Too bad Dana not have his PI training place anywhere in Africa yet.

Africa would be a good place to expand their influence. Guess in the beginning it isn't about having the top fighters but steady fights creating their own stars.

Fuck Saudi Arabia and, specifically, fuck Turki Alalshikh.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.
