Pro boxers from one side are as independent contractors...ofc they does have contracts with team, gyms, agents, managers and promoters and so on.congress draws up new legislation, senate confirms it, the president signs it into law. it may sound like a difficult thing to do, but congress and senate are currently doing everything the president asks them to do, and dana is besties with him. it's going to happen, they have at least 2 years to do this, possibly 4.
Plumber anyway isn't mandatory super low skill guy. They does have courses, additional courses etc, also might have certs etc.I'm not sure why you used the adjective to describe the corporation as greedy. Obviously corporations are greedy, but you're phrasing it like the promoters in boxing are not greedy, when they have the same exact goals and ethics as the UFC.
As for there only being 2/3 guys in each division worth watching...I mean if you're not a big fan, then yes. Then you could say the same exact thing for boxing. It's the norm for people to call everyone outside hte top 2 guys in a division bums in boxing fandom.
Plumbers make more money than both boxers and MMA fighters, so not really a great example there. Fighting isn't a real job.
I still hope this doesn't happen in boxing, but you're making it seem like boxing is some great wonderland of athletics when it's just as degenerate of an industry as MMA. Boxing is just as ruthless, if not more so than MMA.
Pride had lesser restrictions than UFC.The UBO or whatever will have it's champion, touted as the best in the world, but because Dana won't allow for cross promotion we'll never see him fight any champions outside of the league. It'll be Pride vs UFC all over again.
while turki is pulling the rug from under them, props to oscar for being the only one with the balls to fuck him off
A misleading analogy. Keep living in denial.
1. Create a UFC of boxing. Award titles, keep fighters under contract, match up elite fighters each time out, no tune ups or cab drivers, ignore old sanctioning bodies, and stack cards.
2. Cut fighter pay drastically to ensure the venture is economically rational. Slash their pay to the bone. Make sure the promoters secure the bulk of the cash as they are the ones turning a failing business into a successful one.
3. Reduce the number of weight classes to the classic eight.
4. Reduce the number of rounds - 5 for regular bouts, 9 for world title fights - to ensure a better fit for modern TV audience which needs to sit through many fights on a card. Cultivate new fans. Long bouts are often dull. Shorter is better, like kickboxing.
5. Most importantly ignore anyone currently involved in the business or deluded critics on Sherdog.
Dunning Kruger in action...you keep repeating the same tired lines that have been repeated by similar idiots for the past 30 years.
it's such a horrible declining business that promoters keep making events and fighters keep fighting in them. but we need to gut all regulation and let the bald buffoon take over the sport, cut everyone's purses and give us a shitty product, because when the promotion collects 90% of the revenue that is somehow better for the sport.
don't worry, they will fuck things up eventually. dana isn't up trump's ass 24/7 for the joy of it, he will get his return on investment. it just isn't the magical solution to your made up problem that you pretend it is. it's just horrible people fleecing athletes.
King wasn't like Dana. Not even close. Lots of people got rich with him and yes he could be greedy when the need arised but nothing like the entire mma world.Yet they follow the law as prescribed by the Ali Act. TKO doesn't want to compete with those guys with boxers having the protections they do. As far King it's a great example of why the Ali Act was crafted in the first place.
Are you a longtime boxing fan? Do you really want boxers put into the same position as UFC fighters that Dana can squeeze at his whim and pay 10% of the profits? Peanuts for the up and comers while they risk great bodily harm.
As I understand FightFax is the older version thrown out for BoxRec.Box Rec is used for matchmaking worldwide decade plus in row.
While they does care mainly about pro boxing records not fighters records in other sport or am boxing.
Fight Fax more modern version IMHO.
boxing must be shitting itself, all of the amazing Nigerian fighters knocking about getting paid a fortune to headline PPVs all over the worldNigeria’s LPMG Global joins forces with Dana White and HE Turki Alalshikh
Africa’s premier boxing management firm, LPMG Global, is reportedly preparing to send nearly half its roster to the newly launched Zuffa Boxing promotion, spearheaded by Dana White and the Saudi Royal. Co-led by Nelson Aiyelabowo and Malik Annur, LPMG Global has cultivated top-tier talent such as Anthony Yigit, Isaac Ekpo, and Ghana’s Hamed, and currently manages some of the most exciting rising fighters across the continent.

Among their standout prospects is Solomon ‘Iron Fist’ Adebayo, who, at just 19, boasts an almost flawless stoppage rate and is widely seen as Nigeria’s most formidable heavyweight, and has recently captured the WBA Africa Heavyweight Title. Also on the roster is Chibuike ‘African Fury’ Ogbuagu, a promising heavyweight whose nickname pays tribute to Tyson Fury, who reportedly supports him. And the talent doesn’t stop there.
Joining the team would be the 17-year-old Raheem Animashaun, the current West African Boxing Union lightweight champion, who is already recognized as one of Africa’s most promising young fighters. Moreover, featherweights Dolapo Imole and Tope Musa Tajudeen also round out the rising talent under LPMG’s banner.
According to a report from Punch News earlier today, the potential partnership with Dana White and HE Turki Alalshikh’s new boxing venture could offer global exposure for Africa’s next wave of stars and might represent a game-changing moment for the continent’s boxing future.
