Media UFC superstar Jon Jones admits to only making $30 million in nearly a decade and multiple ppv appearances

JJ 🗣️💦📠

Haven't read di tred yet bet 6ixdog Saiyan all kind of nice ting aboot him tho Bones di GOAT

Jon said a druggie outworked you overlooking the fact that if he was Jon Jones "the store manager" he wouldn't have nearly the ability to do what he did in the past. Crash into a pregnant lady and be in possession of drugs, "abuse" your wife around your children among probably other things. If he was not in the UFC and was not supported by the head of a company that hits his wife he would have been no better than the people he criticizes. There are people serving time for doing much less than Jones has done in his career.

I think he's probably full of shit. When he says he's only made $30 million, I guarantee he's talking take-home after taxes and fees. Not his gross combined salary.

These guys pay a % of their salaries to their managers and coaches/gyms. They also have to pay taxes. I pretty much guarantee Jon Jones is talking about $30 million left for himself after all of this, and that's actually pretty good.

Edit: To be more exact, fighters have a lot of deductions. Let's say you make $10 million, 20% goes to your manager and 10% to your gym. You can't even always write off 100% of this. But let's say you can, then you pay 37% income tax (marginal brackets are minor at this range) on the remaining $7M, and you're left with $4.41M. When you factor in that taxes apply to the $10M and you can't fully write off the $3M in fees, you are left with probably $4M take home income after taxes.

So when Jon Jones says he made $30M, in reality he was probably paid $75M overall during that period since 2015. That's almost $10M per PPV.

Jones did have a very hard to manage career. He would mess things up every time they wanted to push him as a superstar. If he could've kept clean his whole run, he'd have more sponsorships and sold more PPVs. Jones never really sold much on his own.

“Outwork you” = not competing under the same restrictions

Jon is such an insecure dumb fuck, the fact that he's constantly talking shit to people in the comments shows how fucked he is in the head. Also having two massively successful brothers leads me to believe that they all came from a very privileged life, so he can fuck off with trying to act like he's some junkie loser making it from nothing.

More proof that Jon Jones is like jesus given how unappreciated he is.

He'll be broke in 10yrs like all the rest of them

Imagine having to live life with only 30M income.

Poor guy. I feel so sad for him.

His " only 30 million" comment is spot on. For a cracked that kinda money won't last he will prob smoke it up in 3 years or until he heart explodes

It doesn't seem like a lot to me in the grand scheme of things when putting it in context and considering the "world" champion he has been. In any other prominent sport, his net worth would be around or over 100 million.

Thing is he's not a plumber or an electrician though. Only apples to apples comparisons make sense. Elite athletes in other sports make far, far more than Jones has. For an athlete of his caliber he is absolutely underpaid. Doesn't matter if he makes more than the average guy, because the average guy doesn't generate the kind of revenue for their employer that he does.
No, strong disagree. Combat sports to popular-culture sports is comically NOT apples to apples, so I'm not getting your point.

However, if we're going to compare incomes, 30mil (x2) is a fuck-ton of money and puts Jones in the 1% of the planet pretty much. Not sure why you or anyone else would think he should make more. Meanwhile, NBA and footballer twinks are raking in even more, which is also absurd and a cancer on society. It's like people don't understand the diminishing returns of having more than 50 million dollars, or the numbers are just too big so people subconsciously think that there's a difference in quality of life, whatsoever, between people making 10 million and 60+ or more. Obsession with wealth is weird, especially considering it's almost always coupled with a complete lack of understanding.

Boxing is a combat sport. Again there's not much of a point comparing what say an actor makes to a plumber or an elite athlete to a cashier. Pay is based on the value you provide to your employer.

Lebron makes that in half a season whether he plays or not. It's a ton of money but the top athletes in other sports laugh at that money. They also get a ton of endorsements which the UFC pilfers....uh, I mean that the fighters wear uniforms and can't wear sponsors to UFC events. The UFC has to have great lawyers to get away with this 'Private Contractor' stuff.
I don't see your point. . . I see a multi-multi-multi millionaire, set for life, including his family, and lots of very much NOT millionaire simps bothered that he doesn't make even more, like other toxically overpaid athletes in FAR more popular sports.
I agree the UFC should pay it's athletes more. . .just not the ones that have already made over 60 MILLION.
