UFC should award 3 fight a year or more bonus

It makes sense to reward fighters that fight 3 or more times a year. Make it significant too. Any ideas on how much ?

That's actually not a bad idea. I guess it would depend on the echleon of the fighter.

If it's a gatekeeper, I would give them maybe $500,000, Main event fighters like GSP, AS, JBJ, JDS, I would give them a million

The kind of reward themselves with more paydays by fighting. Ppl may fight very injured if they stand to collect a large bonus by fighting.

Good counter argument. The other option is to increase the of the night bonuses

or they train smarter, more diligently, intelligently
 
I've love anything to encourage fighters to fight more and train safer.

or in other words they dont push themselves as hard in training and then in the fights they DO show up to they arent as good as they could have been. Gotcha.

Do you really think that there isn't a tremendous amount of diligence and intelligence already put into their training? This isnt a job for the great majority of these guys, it is their life and love. Most of them (BJs and Rampages of the world aside) are doing almost everything conceivable to peak their performance for as little injury risk as they can afford. Hard training comes with risk
 
I wouldn't mind this. It would be something put into their contracts though. What I originally thought you meant was UFC giving away end of the year awards which I would love. I say 250,000 for foty; 150,000 for koty and soty
 
This idea has been mentioned before but I still think its a good one. They should get a 50% increase on their contracted pay for every bout past the third one within a twelve month period.
 
For champs yes. For non champions i say a 4 fight a year bonus.

On an off topic note i am on my phone right now so i cant see, but do i have dubs?
 
I always thought this was a good idea.To those who say they would fight injured to get that bonus ...that's good everyone walks around injured that trains like a m'f'er everyday we don't need guys pulling out every time they stub their pinky toe.You think guys like Cerrone who fight alll the fucking time aren't fighting injured?Of course they are but it's just part of the game.This waiting forever and sighting injuries just so you can be 100% for every fight cause a loss kills is smart but let's reward the guys that don't have this buzzkill of a mindset.
 
Make a DVD of the fights (the top 5 or however fights) and give all the revenue from sales to the fighters on said list.

i think bonuses should depend on your contract.

no way they'd give everyone 500k.

let's say if someone has 10k per fight. He gets extra 30k 10k for every of his fight.

20k then it's 60k

If it's 4k more after every fight
20k+24+28k then it's 82k $$ bonus
 
Love the idea but it was very well counter argued... and then all those counters were countered in this thread lol

But the idea is still very sound, probably Dana does it under the table... look at the spiders lovely gift he got :)
