I didn't see a thread on this yet. Vakhitov is fighting Rico in kickboxing in June probably as a retirement fight and apparently UFC didn't pay Vakhitov what he was worth as a former champion who beat Alex, just the same crappy contract they give any noob on Contender series. Man this era of UFC sucks. Fuck power slap and influencers

He should have made the decision earlier to chase Alex. The latter will be done soon and this kickboxer needs a little streak going, if he can win some fights at all.

I'm not familiar with him but I notice his kickboxing record is 23-6, with only 8 Kos, so is he a bit of a decisionator? MMA record is 3-1 with all 3 of his wins by KO but against relatively unknown opponents.

UFC offered the kickboxing world champion a $10K contract who went like “lol fuck you” then went on to fight for the Glory Kickboxing world title instead

based
To be fair. My understanding is the only reason he considered the UFC was because Russians were temporarily banned from Glory. Once that ban was lifted the amount it would cost to sign him didn't make sense for the UFC.

No party is at fault here, if the Russian ban has lasted longer he likely signs his UFC contract.

He didn't ever look that serious about MMA to me anyway. They gave him an absolute layup on the show and he still didn't look great. I suspect he would have gone 0-3 against guys on the main roster.

Look the kid just doesnt want to fight, he saw what Big Ank did to Poatan and said nope, fuck that Im out.

How much would you pay him to fight for your company, in MMA given what you have already skills in his MMA bouts?

UFC is isn’t run by Scott Coker, they’re not going to pay him 500k because he beat Alex that ones time.

Remember when y’all people were crying about UFC not getting Cedric Doumbe? how’s that working out for him signing with the PFL?

You have to use your brain sometimes and be realistic instead of your emotional hate. Valhitov took the better deal in a better legacy fight for him in a sport he is more comfortable in. The UFC isn’t going to give him outrageous contract and based on what we seen in his contender bouts i don’t blame them.

Umm, wildly successful?

Winning wise, sure. Contractual wise, probably not. He hasn’t fought in over a year, no fight lined up in sight, probably won’t get a fight offer will sit on shelf because PFL can’t upkeep payouts and can’t leave also, will go the way of irrelevancy when he finally does get released there might not be a offer anywhere else. But sure beating a few cans is nice.

According to this dazn article from a few days ago, Doumbe will rematch Baki again soon. Definitely not a can

And I was pissed when UFC didn't offer him what he was worth and let him walk too. At the end of the day, they're prize fighters and will take the biggest contract. Can't blame them for not wanting to fight for peanuts in UFC
