UFC/Pride Light Heavyweight Champions with least-to-most Top 10 ranked wins at Light Heavyweight.

Dominick Reyes was the #1 ranked contender not the #7

Interesting way to compare fighters from different eras. Obviously any method of doing this is going to have its flaws, but it is still cool to see. Thank you for doing the work to make these threads.

Source or you're lying
Gustafsson hadn't fought for 16 months and as a result he wasn't ranked when he fought Jones.

uh, machida lost the first fight vs shogun very clearly. and henderson v shogun 1 the last round was definitely a 10-8.
And where in my OP did I say that I would be retroactively judging the outcomes of fights in addition to everything else I'm doing in this thread? That's not the purpose of this thread, so look elsewhere if that's why you're here.

Reyes was #7 according to FightMatrix, which is what all of these rankings are based on (as stated in the OP), and that's pretty fair given the fact that him defeating an Oezdemir coming off two losses and a Weidman moving up from Middleweight and being 1-4 in his last five hardly makes Reyes worthy of being the #1 contender; that illustrates how weak the Light Heavyweight Division has become.

You literally have official UFC rankings, why are you going with FightMetrix?

#4 Sokoudjou

Jesus, the people responsible for that ranking should be ashamed of themselves. Quick KO's of Arona and Lil' nog shouldn't have got him this high.
That's how the game works lol.

Hell no he was never #4 in the world.. but somehow he got put in those fights and won them. I dont really see a matchmaking error here, it's just weird dumb luck. He for sure deserved that ranking though.. I mean he beat them dudes legit

Care to explain how I can use UFC rankings for fights that took place prior to 2013? What about for fights that took place outside of the UFC? What about rankings for non-UFC fighters?

<{cruzshake}>
yeah but if you're going to rank wins from 2013 and prior in the UFC you should you know...Use the rankings from the organization?

Then why was Jones ranked? And Cormier wasn't? Wasnt DC the champ yet Jon was ranked #1? Lol how does that makes any sense. You should have used UFC or sherdog rankings, fightmetric is only good for stats

The UFC didn't have rankings prior to 2013...
i said prior i meant 2013 and forward. If there was an official ranking from the organization from 2013 to this day it doesn't make any sense to use any other ranking to rank top 10 wins. Dominick Reyes was ranked #1 in the UFC LHW and that matters far more than any "FightMetric" ranking.

It's FightMatrix, not fightmetric, for one thing. Secondly, I don't think FightMatrix removes fighters from the rankings if their inactivity is due to suspensions (Sonnen, for example, was ranked 14 months after his first fight with Silva), while Cormier getting removed from the rankings was due to inactivity of his own volition.

UFC rankings didn't exist before 2013 and only apply for UFC fights/fighters, they're inapplicable for non-UFC fights and non-UFC champions. Sherdog rankings aren't even accessible that far back, so good luck with that avenue.

See above.

get the stick out of your ass.

The Ultimate Goof rankings are probably the most ridiculous out there.
I don't disagree with that, but they are still the official rankings of the UFC so imo it should make more sense to use them since they have been in place

In other words, you've got nothing to counter the flaws I brought up in your argument <Lmaoo>.

Silva hadn't fought at Light Heavyweight in 14 months so he got removed from the rankings.

you're really not worth my time, that's why.

Cormier had 3 fights in 2018 how is that not active? Lol are you ok man? Stop trying to defend the indefensible. Just goes to show your data is bullshit

get the stick out of your ass.
You're the one trying to say personal opinions overrule actual fight results tho. It's pretty obvious why it really can't work that way.
