In the US there's no free content. The national Fox cards (which where free) got moved to cable and the fight night cable cards got moved to a subscription service.

Most of the popular sports in the US (Ncaa football, Olympics, Nascar, NFL football, PGA tour, MLB/NBA playoffs) are actually all free over the air with an antenna.

Even boxing (which is supposedly more greedy than UFC and more poorly run) shows about 20 free cards a year on FOX/ABC

How does it fucking work ? Uh maybe do what big boy sports do an actually display your content on a national stage ? (or you could alienate fans and make it more expensive and harder to watch, i'm sure that method will go over greatly :rolleyes:)

Never stated or claimed that ? (thanks for the snark though).

The user I quoted was being a smartass saying "uhhh they give you ungrateful people free content" (which isn't true, the free fox cards got moved to cable) and then was basically like "uhh how do you think the UFC can make money" (which I pointed out was BS because most sports leagues make more money than UFC with less paywalls and more free content, in some cases nearly 100% of it free)

again you're suggesting they could have an alternative distribution model through network tv that could be equally lucrative. if you don't think that's true how can you present it as an option?

He said they give us free content (which isn't true, the fox cards got moved to cable) and then was insinuating that they have to make money to keep the lights on which I stated was a piss poor excuse since every other league can generate revenue while making it more fan accessible (i'm not saying one is more profitable then the other, i'm saying the whole "it's a necessity you ungrateful cunts" doesn't look good when literally every other league doesn't have that tone or issue)
 
I too long for free MMA propelled by advertisements. Don't know if Dana would fully commit bit that WOULD put it on the level of NFL MLB and NBA

Same here. I've actually bought most cards spanning, well fuck like 14 years at this point.

I can't do this constant jacking up of the ppv prices. Most of the ppvs from last year were shallow enough. Now we're up to $75? I've been a fan since the first season of TUF and all they do is shit on us. More money for worse cards? Nah fook that ya goofs.

I'll buy big cards and find a alternative way to watch the rest.
 
Same as posts above, I actually paid for most ppv's, but have to draw the line somewhere and this is it, just got my firebox from a friend...not paying this ransom anymore.
