"I was very sick this morning" -- Did enough to win two rounds, but yes, despite looking strong at times, he did look more easily worn down


Realistically, even with him being the pick for future champion, DON'T want him to fight Pantoja quite yet. And training hard all the time has a lot less relevance when the actual fight result is a decision win against an opponent who should've been stopped.

Felt it was a win-win: wanted Umar to get a clear victory AND wanted Almakhan to show enough to look prospective.
He already faced what other BWs fear.

Hope Almakhan has a good recovery and is "rewarded" with a matchup against a mediocre fighter he can wreck to get that first UFC win
