UFC needs to sign Ben Askren

Askren rants UFC without belong it. Unfortunately no way...

He need to cut to 155 too so we can see him vs Khabib in the grappler's dream fight. He claims he can't make 155 but then there is this:

Or they could just fight at WW because Khabib states 155 is a hard cut.

That ship has sailed, however Dana could do us a favour and sign Koreshkov, Chandler, Akmetov and Moraes.

Oh that's right! ... what was the reasoning for that?

Rebney said at the time ''Askren is completely one dimensional who is dominant in that area'' something along them lines, in other words nobody cares about him, in a nice term.

He's irrelevant now. He burned his bridge to the UFC and now he's stuck in Asia, fighting scrubs they pull out of the audience minutes beforehand. But hey, at least his Dana bashing made him a hero to Worldwide MMA Sherdoggers. That counts for something.

Not just fighting scrubs, not having the easiest of times dealing with them either.

Yep.

And I just noticed he's only had four fights since getting the boot from Bellator. He really is wasting his talent.

Askren certainly should be fighting the best guys in the world. He belongs in the UFC--ask any of the UFC fighters who have trained with him and they will all tell you that he is a monster.

Dana didn't sign him for three major reasons (imho):

1. Many people think his style is boring (just read the replies on this thread for proof).
2. He likely wanted more money than Dana felt he was worth.
3. He was the Bellator champion, and had a good chance of beating many of the UFC's top ten. Dana did not want a Bellator guy to run over the UFC guys.

Some might argue that Dana did just that when he signed Eddie Alvarez, but Alvarez had already made a name for himself before signing with Bellator. Plus, Eddie's style was incredibly exciting (see his wars with Michael Chandler for proof...).

Regardless, Askren is a top-tier fighter. It genuinely sucks that he's not able to prove that in the Octagon.

They don't need to, but they probably should. There's a possibility he's the best WW in the world and we are all just kidding ourselves because he's not in the right org.

I'd like a single proof that Dana or any UFC executive got mad when Alvarez captured the UFC belt.

I agree, dude is probably the best fighter outside of the UFC right now, but they aren't going to be in a hurry to have a high level wrestler come in and grind out a lot of their more exciting fighters. Plus Askren has talked a lot of shit about the UFC in the past, mostly in response to the shit that Dana talked about him.

I don't find his style all that boring tbh, the way he handled Lima and Koreshkov was actually pretty awesome to watch, especially when you consider how fucking good those guys are.

People were beating this drum about Antonio McKee for years. The story is a carbon copy except for the fact that McKee had a more impressive record, even though he was pretty much a very average boring blanket like Askren. When they finally gave in and signed him, he got disposed of on the opening prelim of the night by Jacob Volkmann who was on the verge of being cut. Then they cut McKee after one fight and that was the end of that.

They probably won't make the same mistake with Askren.

They should bring back Fitch and Shields too. I have trouble falling asleep with only one blanket.

No they don't. Askren is all but forgotten in this part of the world, despite all the noises he's attempting to make on Twitter. He shat on the UFC and refused to play ball, well I guess now he's fulfilling his dream of fighting out the rest of his athletic years in Asia against nobodies. Good for him.
Crushing cans means he's unlikely to lose. There's also no USADA. For Askren, what's the motivation for coming to the UFC, where he's gotta jump through drug testing hoops and won't make as much money? So he can fight (and lose to) the best in the world? Come on. He's guaranteed like $100,000 to crush cans in One FC. Even if he got that matched in the UFC, he'd lose against top guys and suddenly he's not making nearly what he used to, and then he can't go back to Asia as an undefeated fighter. It just doesn't make sense for him.

Also, his head looks like unshaven pubic hair.

I agree with everything else you've said but STFU about his hair. The guy has zero hair loss, who cares about styling, if you have that much hair you can style it however you want, respect the man's hair game!
