UFC is not the best mma competition anymore

I enjoy watching Gaethje, Askren, Venom, Chandler and believe they can compete with UFC fighers. But what does "picking your favorite fighter" have to do with if the are good or not?

im just asking mma fans to expand their horizons and watch other organizations. the fighters you mentioned are awesome and are def on par with ufc competition which many who only watch the ufc arent aware of

And Pride FC? UFC wouldn't be squat if it didn't have the fighters from previous organizations. Remember last fight in WEC, both Pettis and Henderson held titles in UFC from other organizations too and let's not forget current champ Dom. Point is UFC is not what it is today because of Dana or Rogan, it's because these fighters came to and made all of us tune in, personally I loved watching Pride and Strike force but followed fighters that switched over not to watch the UFC presentation.

Strikeforce was the closest competition after UFC bought Pride, before that Pride was the better show in a 10 year run.

Well imagine that you get into the UFC, everyone in your hometown knows you, and then you go on making a fool of yourself. Or your trainer isn't into that kind of stuff. Or perhaps you're from a smaller town that doesn't have mainstream representation, and you want to do right by where you train/are from.

If a fighter wants to actually speak some truth instead of the cookie-cutter response, they're considered arrogant, whining, making excuses, scared, angry, ungrateful, etc.

That said, I do hate hearing the same stuff. Let it hang out, fellas. I understand speaking right after a professional altercation isn't always the best time for dudes to put the moves on, but you are right, to be a draw to the casuals, you must get people invested in you. That's fine if you choose not to, it is a shame that skilled/exciting fighters don't always get the push they deserve though.

I can't think of too many fighters outside of the ufc that could beat the current champs in the ufc.
Edit: I can't think of ANY fighters outside of the ufc actually.

I don't think RDA could get past Gaethje or even Brooks, besides that can't count on others.

Mighty Mouse - definitely
Cruz - definitely
Conor - of course
RDA - yes, but Conor is better. I think Khabib and Fergie give him problems but RDA is still worthy.
Lawler - yes. I think Rory is better but he's lost twice so what do I know.
Rockhold - definitely. Complete fighter. Weidman is good too.
DC. Jones is better but DC is still a very good fighter
Verdum - yes.

JJ - yes. my future wife.
Miesha - questionable but she beat Holly! Nice arse.

conor is in no way the best in any organization. cruz is def a top notch fighter. rda isnt the greatest fighter in the weight division by any means. will brooks would do great in ufc lightweight. pretty much any top fighter in any organization would do greatin the ufc and that is exactly what im trying to say. other organizations have just as good as fighters if not better than the ufc

it would be great to see all ufc fighters move to other companies. The ufc doesnt represent what it once did (the best fighters). Its simply just trying to make money off of fighters and paying those who bring in fans more money rather than promoting fighting skill, technique, and ability. the only reason i watch certain ufc fights is because it has fighters i want to support (edgar, cruz, faber, khabib, and others) if the fighters i appreciated left the ufc i would def stop watching ufc fights completely. the ufc doesnt represent the best of mma fighters anymore and to anyone who loves mma i def reccommend watching other organizations (bellator, wsof, rizin, etc) and pick your favorite fighters. if you disagree please explain why.

i dont think you understood what i was saying. im saying that other organizations have top notch fighters that can beat top notch fighters in the ufc and are simply over looked because they arent in the ufc. the ufc used to stand for only the greatest fighters and it truly doesnt anymore

You're completely wrong, no explanation needed. All you have to do is look back even to UFC 194 to UFC 200 and you got pretty much nothing but the best fighting the best. You're pretty much talking about Conor here?? Hate to break it to you cause he wiped out the 145 division going 7-0 and KO'd in Aldo in 13 seconds, so anything with Conor is pretty much among the best. And if you're complaining about the UFC doing fights that focus on money and drawing power?? Its the fight game homie, its about putting together the fights people want to see.

exactly, but many mma fans arent willing to watch other organizations. i highly recommend mma fans to watch other organizations to seek fighters where they truly enjoy watching their style, technique and ability.

No you're wrong about that. First, Conor is the best at FW and you cant dispute that, he wiped out the division KO'ing 6/7 guys and winning the title. Second, guys like Brooks, Askren, and others may do well in the UFC but its not a certainty by any means. Out of the best 10 fighters outside the UFC you will get 2....maybe 3 that will be champ level fighters. You gotta understand that these organizations have 2 guys in each weight class that could be contenders in the UFC.....the UFC has 10.

im def not talking about conor. conor doesnt mean anything when speaking about the greatest fighters. the fight game is about having the best fight each other rather than having the largest ppv numbers. do u think mayweather earns his numbers from speaking or from fighting? mayweather is considered one of the best from his fighting ability not his fan drawing ability. all im saying is the ufc used to stand for the greatest of mma and simply does not anymore. many great mma fighters are in other organizations and it would be great for mma fans to appreciate that

Kimbo and Dada are older then Dinosaures and way past there peak so it was a given freak show on paper and before hand. while Conor-Siver was just 1yr ago or Miocic-maldonado as competitive fights. It's reallly not that hard to know that it's no more sport
