UFC Has Lost All Credibility With RR/WMMA

Still hating I see. Whatever dude. Davis was the highest ranked contender. Holly Holms doesn't get an automatic title shot just because you think her wins over inferior competition warrant it. Its why she wasn't signed months ago. She wanted boxing money that was more than what the UFC champ herself makes and an automatic title shot. She hasn't fought a single ranked contender. And !@#$%^&* at Cyborg. Yeah, its the UFC's job to make the champ fight someone outside the UFC on their terms, sure, that's totally how professional fighting works.

They only want Holm because she has the ability to knock Ronda out. They don't care that she's fought nobody up to this point, and would likely lose to supposedly inferior competition like Zingano, McMann, etc.

You're right to a certain extent, but both holm and cyborg have put away their opponents in brutal fashion. Holm has just gotten into MMA, and cyborg has fought women her size and undersized ones as well. For the record I'm not a cyborg fan, but her and RR would make for an interesting fight.

So now we go from "she fights smaller fighters" to "she's not brutal enough"? You make no sense.

And Holm's isn't going to knock Ronda out with one punch. The minute Ronda gets a hold of her she will go sailing and either tap to a submission or get pounded out herself. There's literally nothing about her that would make her any more of a contender than anyone else in the UFC. I hope she signs, she can continue to grow and add to the sport, but at this point she's a pro boxer fighting in second and third tier leagues and fighting unranked opponents. Big fucking deal.

Holm is unproven in MMA. How is that a step up in competition? It'd be like signing James Toney again. If having a Silver Medal Wrestler isn't enough, I have no idea why having a former-pro boxer with a good, but untested record would suddenly mean a competitive division.

Zingano and Mcmann are the only legitimate fighters in that weight class, Tate is undersized and is getting by with heart and determination. Maybe the fans want to see a competitive match, hence the reason fans are calling for the UFC to sign Holly already.

The ironic thing is that most of their opponents would be dwarfed and finished by Carmouche.

The only one not thinking straight is you, which is why none of your points make sense. Your entire thread is "the UFC lost all credibility with WMMA" and your only reason why so far is because she's beaten supposedly sub par competition, yet the fighters you decree need to be signed have fought even worse competition. The ball is in Cyborg's court to fight Ronda. Holly is still working out a deal that makes sense. (keyword: sense) Other than that, the talent pool in WMMA is what it is, and Ronda's better than everyone.

Her striking is a lot better than most of the women in the UFC.

Her boxing might be better, but striking remains to be seen. And you're only basing your analysis of her striking on the all the unranked fighters she's beaten so far. Regardless, most want to see Holm's sign. She adds to the sport. But the UFC wasn't going to pay her what boxing pays her, (the number they originally asked for was more than what Ronda makes) and she wasn't going to just get an automatic title shot. That's not how it works in professional combat sports. They're supposedly working on a deal again and we'll see how it goes.

Holly turned pro the same year as Ronda, and is still fighting far smaller opponents. Cyborg turned pro back in 2005, and fought the 5'5 Muxlow just last year. She also fought the awful Jan Finney five years into her career. A woman that's been finished by practically everybody she fought (including Carmouche, Baszler, and Kedzie). I can only imagine the reaction if Ronda ever fought someone like this.
