UFC has gone backwards

So much has changed....

- WMMA
- USADA
- Reebok / Incentive pay
- Fighters unable to get their own sponsors
- 'Stitch' Duran out
- "We Rollinnnnn'" Watson out
- Davis goes Bellator
- MacDonald goes Bellator
- Bader goes Bellator
- 'Early' weigh-ins & Official faceoffs
- Barely any Q&A's
- Lookin' for a fight amateur scouting show
- CM Punk in the octagon
- Mousasi goes Bellator
- McCarthy retired
- Goldie gone
- Joe Silva retires
- WME IMG
- Dana makes $360m and stays
- Hughes & Liddell out, Dana couldn't afford them (lol)
- Conor did whatever the fook he wants
- Goldie out
- ESPN
- Dana staying for another 7 years
- Champions going after another belt
- New UFC belt to save costs
- Greg Hardy co main eventing twice
- DC waiting for a WWE wrestler to fight

How is this all great for fighters and fans?

some of these things you mentioned are normal, as in people retiring, moving on to other things, etc., some others are debatable on whether they are good or bad for the ufc, and the rest i agree with.

it's tough to judge on what they did right or wrong, because it depends on what you're looking to get from the ufc.

I bought the damn ESPN + crap and didn't realize you also need to buy the PPV as well. So fuck them I am out on the ESPN PPV model.
You really thought for $5 a month you were getting the ppvs?

Man Sherdoggers are some of the silliest people in the world.

I agree with you. no arguments here.

  • WMMA produces great fights. Not a problem.
  • Reebok makes for a better looking production, and I don't care what these guys make. No more Ken Florian pretending to drink a sealed can of soda.
  • Stitch and Watson had no bearing on the customer facing product.
  • Fighters come and go.
  • People retire and move on. (Cosell and Gifford don't host Monday Night football anymore)
  • Don't see what Dana selling shares has to do with my experience as a viewer.

This all just seems like nitpicky BS.

If there's 1 problem with the UFC it's too many cards and not enough to care about. Cards just aren't stacked anymore the way they were when there were 10 - 14 cards a year. It's all becoming as top heavy as boxing cards.

The UFC to me is like Sherdog. It’s a time waster and something I do when I’m bored. The UFC is not a legitimate organization and I do not take them seriously or pay for their product. I miss the early to late 2000’s.

Card quality is shit. Too many people on the roster, WMMA should disappear, they should have fewer events, great and popular fighters need to fight much more frequently.

The writing on the wall was there back when the UFC started promoting the hell out of guys like Bisping. Gone were the days of the best fighters fighting each other/being marketed the most, and in came the PR machine and hype jobs and starting to copy the boxing model. Then it went full blown with the Brock/Ronda/Conor times. Now it's basically the 'top fighters' are just top promoted, according to the boxing model, and the 'lower level' guys have to battle it out and pick each other off. Kinda crazy considering how anti-boxing model Dana was for so long, must have seen the bigger dollar signs after Brock, though.

No, what I meant is I thought all UFC events on ESPN weren't PPV, didn't realize the exact logistics of their move to ESPN till afterward. No biggie as I am big into fantasy sports so I get something out of it anyways.

They decreased the cost of PPV to offset the increased cost from buying ESPN+, so it's the same total price as before.
yup figured that out after. Sucks for me though as I work for a cable company and the PPV's were free as I work on-call and need to ensure all channels work fine, grrrr. Not anymore though thanks to ESPN. So I am a cheapo and no more for me.

He'll probably be at Bellator tonight.

Yo,keep sayin shit like that if ya wanna get fucked up in here.
don't try to sound like you're a LA gang member. you're a norwegian typing on a keyboard safe at home <45>

Do these guys even put on fights anymore? I haven't seen anything lately

UFC does indeed suck these days. But I still love MMA so I keep up to date and occasionally watch, never pay though.

The last party I threw was UFC 200. LIttle did I know that would be the end.
