UFC Fights Should Start Earlier

Really don't get why they start so late.

I’ve lived in 3 different time zones since I started watching the UFC.

Firstly, the MST time zone. Which is UTC minus 7. Like many US states. The Main ppv cards would start at 8:00PM.

Then I lived in the EST, which is UTC minus 5. Like NY, DC, VA, and the Eastern Seaboard. The Main ppv cards started at 10:00PM.

Now I’m in the PST, which is UTC minus 8. Like a lot of the West Coast. The Main ppv cards start at 7:00PM.

In the East cards would end around 1:00AM. You’re adrenaline is pumping, but VA is shutting down for the night. So read SD for 3 hours. By then it’s getting closer to dawn than midnight.

Easily the worst of the 3.

In Edmonton the cards would end around 11:00PM. If you feel like going out. There’s still plenty of time to have a few drinks before last call.

That is the one I’ve spent way more time in. The starting, and finishing times were always great, imo.

Now, here the cards are ending around 10:00PM. Again there are lots of options at 10:00. Especially in a Canadian summer vacation destination (once it’s summer).

A 10:00PM start is a little late, imo. Especially if you have something to do Sunday morning.
 
I wish they started a little earlier too. I live on the East Coast of the US, so the main cards don't start until 10 pm and usually they don't end until 1 or so, sometimes later and i try to keep a regular sleep schedule of going to bed at like 11 or so, which means i'm usually tired by the time the last few fights roll around.

My brother always use to watch the fights with me but now gets home at like 11 and then has to go right to bed because he has to wake up even earlier than me for work. So he's missed most of the recent ones. He even missed UFC 300 because of it, which he's still kind of pissed off about lol.
 
I agree. Main events can start after 11 PM Central and it's even worse if you're in EST. They don't start the Superbowl at 9 PM. That would tank the ratings all the revenue from commercials.

There's no reason MMA needs to cater to 17-year oldswho wake up at noon and stay up until 3 AM.

I agree 100% and the UFC marketing should understand that the majority of the fans they garnered in the early 2000's are now in their 40's and such and 2am PPV's is not indicative of that lifestyle.

Also, let's say the prelims still started at the same time, we don't need 20 minutes between fights. It's becoming boring especially with a card this weak.

I full heartedly agree. I'm on the east coast of the US and the main event of PPV cards tends to start around 1am here, give or take 30 minutes. It fucks with my whole sleep schedule.

For whatever reason, UFC caters to pacific west coast times, despite the fact that eastern time zone in the US is the most populated.

Exactly, the time for these cards is the worst for people in eastern time zone. Which is bizarre because that's the most populated time zone in the country.
 
I am in the east coast, and its dumb to have the Main PPV cards start at 10PM. Awhile back, maybe 15 years ago they tried having the Main PPV card start at 8PM and it was much better for the East coast, but i guess the West coast didn't like it starting at 5PM. Oh well, i don't pay for them anyway, so fuck em.

They should take that 3 pm start time from you and give it to us just for making a post this stupid. You don’t want it to start earlier because it would inconvenience you? Same whining I’m doing on my end.

I’m closer to the west coast and I love the idea. No idea why someone would prefer to watch fights later in the night.
 
Would be nice if the UFC could work around all of our schedules
 
Ya, Sean shit the bed last night, glad I didn't stay up for it. He needs to try something different when his point boxing doesn't work.
