UFC Fighters who were never very good but were popular and had name value

How was Lesner never any good? He was a freight train who beat the shit out of Mir, KO'd Randy Couture, and gave us an all-time comeback against Carwin.

He can hold his head high with his only unavenged career losses being to a prime Cain and prime Overeem.
Bringing up "only losses" when Brock had like 8 fights and got his ass beat in half of them is pretty funny.

brock was a roided fraud with a pitifully short MMA career.

Great wrestler, but not a good MMA fighter.
His MMA wrestling is ridiculously overrated too.

Who are all these great opponents he outwrestled?

Herring, on his last fight? Many people outwrestled him
Carwin was a dead man walking in RD2 of their fight.

I guess it all comes down to UFC 100 lol.

UFC fighters that were often talked about, for whatever reason or the other, but just weren't great fighter's at the end of the day, call 'em busts, overrated, overhyped, whatever. Here's a few off the top of my head.

Todd Duffee- Built like a specimen, came in hot with the fastest KO at HW, then had a shit career thereafter
Erick Silva- Mega-hype- total fizzle
Roger Huerta- Started off super hot, looked like he could be a champ for a moment. Let his ego (and that Sports Illustrated cover) go to his head
Clay Guida- Despite his longevity, and some thrilling fights early on (Diego fight was insane) Clay was never that good
I'm not sure I'd put Clay Guida on that list. He's a shell of himself now but let's not forget who he's beat.....

Josh Thomson
Nate Diaz
RDA
Gomi
Pettis
Lauzon (Joe
He was a nightmare matchup for a lot of people in his prime. The Diego fight was insane. He came back and almost won that fight after that first round (one of the best rounds in history). I might say Clay was never great (at least very good) but I don't think he was ever a bust, overrated, overhyped etc...

he didnt come up in a conventional manner. He had to fight much more experiened guys right away. He did amazing for what he was given.

Yeah he sucks. It's not like he has wins over Pettis, Lauzon, Michael Johnson, BJ, Nate, Gomi, RDS, Kawajiri and Hioki. Obviously not good.

No. Not a fraud.
Literally a fraud. The UFC and USADA conspiring to let him fight was one of the most corrupt and pathetic things I have ever seen in modern MMA.

There is a reason nobody describes Brock as anything other than "He so big, he so strong, he freighttrane, bork smash!" because that's all he is. A large steroid monkey.

Oh, and a piece of shit outside the octagon as well. I wipe my ass with Brock's record, the same way he wiped his ass with the poor women Vince Mcmahon abused.

Fuck Brock.

Greg Hardy. Popularity as a heel, but just not enough skill to get very far.

Brock fans are also all closeted. I just wish they would live in the open. I mean, this is some seriously homo-erotic shit:

Kind of, but I think Khabib is probably a much more talented wrestler. Brock kind of relied on brute strength. Lets face it, Brock was a freak of nature, and came along at just the right time. He fought the right guys at the beginning, then was exposed for what he really was, when he fought some real strikers. It was always exciting when he fought though!
