UFC fighters semi-snubbing Cm Punk

I think If cm punk was allowed to roid it would have fared better, js

I think his trainers should have just put him in front of dummy and told him to land 1000 punches a day on it. And then slowly repalced dummy with fully armored trainer with a notion "if you let him too close you die". And make him do 1000 pushups every time he let the opponent near him. Man, what a wasted potential mma career...

Lol Holly looked legit pissed. Don't hate the player hate the game
Holly looked the most pissed after winning against Bethe. I guess some people just are like that and are often pissed about something

I think the post fight interview was longer than his career.

His first mistake was not shaking hands.

I remember him trying to talk trash to a fan at the press conference. Even the fan would have done better than CM Punk

I think the reactions are pretty normal for a new comer who hasn't proved anything yet as a MMA fighter. He maybe a huge star in pro wrestling, but certainly that doesn't transcend in the UFC. And it's fight week, so a lot of these fighters are feeling the stress.
I agree. Mid weight-cut, cameras in their face, all the other physical/mental stuff going on - no surprise if everyone's not super sociable.

He's a fan pretending to be a fighter.
They know how to interact with fans.
They know how to interact with fighters.

It's usually a much more well defined distinction.

Hard to blame them.

So she's fake then

Here's another, likely unpopular take.
CM punk showed up on the MMA scene with a lot of star power. He trained hard showed a lot of respect to the sport. Shined the spotlight on the sport and got paid. No one else could have pulled this off. He did all of this respectfully. He was humble in defeat after trying hard.

I for one appreciate somebody coming over from the WWE circus and showing some respect to MMA. He did that. He had the clout to get paid for it too so good for him. He didn't jump in line for any title fights and he never talked s***.

Yeah, he had an opportunity to enter the game at a higher level than most folks will ever get. He had clout. That clout didn't come by chance though and he deserves some credit for that, even though I will never appreciate pro wrestling.

Whatever your opinion of CM punk is, Phil what's his name seems like a pretty nice guy. This guy got rich in another sport but never disrespected MMA. In fact, he took a full headlong dive into it, tried his ass off, and got s*** on by MMA fans.

I f****** hate pro wrestling actually. But I respect CM punk for having a f****** go at MMA.

I dislike this take. Here is mine.

He was too stupid to understand he had no business entering the fight world and in particular to enter the fight world at his advanced sporting age. It really takes a special kind of hubris to believe you can accomplish anything close to what someone like Brock did in the lower weight classes. Further his skills were so insanely and ridiculously bad that he couldn't have been honest with himself in training sessions. Any proper fighter would have been destroying him during practice, whether on the ground or in sparring. A high level high school wrestler would have beat his a$$. It is also possible that his trainer protected him during his training sessions. If so, then this also illustrates how ignorant this man was because I, as the participant, would never have allowed that to happen. Punk approached this entire thing like any overly egotistical star would, full of hubris and short on intelligence. What a dummy.

He’s already rich .

I'm referring to how people make it out like CM Punk is super brave because he got in there and fought and that not just anyone would do it.

I'd fight Ngannou for half that, no worries.

If Punk wasn't in it for the money as well then why the fuck did he want that much?

I say bring him back and let Nunes beat him up

Agreed, Punk knew he was in over his head and actually made MMA look good.

The guy atleast had the balls to give it a shot. He tried his best and learned pretty fast he wasn’t cut out for it.

Yep. Not his fault Dana White tried to make money off of him. He got paid good money to get his ass beat.

The UFC is not some sort of justice league or meritocracy and has never been so this is all pretty retarded.
I never liked CM punk but when all this whining and complaining started i got pretty disgusted with all the negativity.
CM punk Made a mistake though, it was as if he was seeking approval 'oh please like me because i am taking this so seriously'. As someone who came from pro wrestling he could have just 'done his thing' or even came in like a heel that talked shit about MMA.

All in all it just shows how simpleminded many MMA fans and practitioners are. Pro wrestling have people coming over all the time, Cain, Tyson furry, Bad Bunny, Logan Paul, Floyd, Trump, Ronda and it all part of the show and the fans and wrestlers enjoy in.

But the biggest hypocrisy was when The Rock who is on so many steroids and never fought, comes I'm with the baddest MF belt and people go crazy. CM punk actually fought and people hated him because he wasn't a "true fighter".

What you are overlooking or forgive is his intense level of stupidity and hubris to think he could actually compete. My god, what an absolute imbecile. I cannot imagine not realizing how terrible I was if I was as bad at anything as CM Punk was at MMA.
