No it isn’t. Imavov’s abilities were diminished when he literally couldn’t do a fucking thing but lay on his back for 5 minutes. He was immediately taken down, held down, and did nothing. He landed 5 total strikes, only 1 significant strike.

The very next sentence in the criteria after the one I quoted earlier is:

“Judges must CONSIDER giving the score of 10 – 8 when a fighter shows dominance in the round even though no impactful scoring against the opponent was achieved.”

except they weren't diminished at all. he got himself to half guard, then got himself to guard and avoided all incoming damage. his abilities aren't diminished simply because he didn't get up. if that were the case, every round on the ground would end 10-8 for the guy on top.

Fair play by Moicano, going over to Benoit and raising his hand. Obviously disappointing seeing a doctor stoppage. At the same time I do not want to see guys just destroy their health. Not always in favor of stoppages especially in big fights like this one but I'm not gonna be mad at a doctor in an octogon actually trying to protect the heatlh of a fighter.
