He's never wrestled under 163 pounds as an adult, as far as I know. And he did that when he was much younger (2008) and in the best shape of his life. And you want him to squeeze another 8 pounds out of a cut now that he's older? Right. Not everyone is terrified of bigger men, like Khabib and Conor are, and is willing to fight more around his natural weight class.

Do you know the difference in weight between 163 and 155. It's 3 kilogram that is literaly nothing. baffling a guy complaining about that. It's like being on the first floor already and saying I can't go further down but guess what his already on the 1st floor

It's do or die for Ben Askren. If he wins he'll probably get a big fight to pad the resume of whoever he fights. I know GSP has shown interest in him and it's possible GSP was the catalyst for Dana White signing him. GSP even said he believed Askren needed a few good wins in the UFC before fighting him.

I am wondering if Askren can submit Lawler. He has the skillset.

Lawler is a great first fight. Great take down defense and hits like a mule kick. If he can keep it standing he has a very good chance of winning. Askren, although many think is untested, has some of the best wrestling/top control in the game. If he can take the fight down he has a good chance of winning.

Lawler throws bombs, and if he lands some it will be a good test to Askrens chin. If Askren can withstand some bombs, it will be a good gauge to see how he may fair against others in the WW division.

With Lawler's recent performances, I would say Askren has a very good chance of winning, and beating a former WW champ solidifies his place in the UFC.

I fear askren is going to take Robbie down and lay on him for the duration of the fight. I suspect it will only be 3 rounds.

Robbie is the embodiment of the warrior spirit, but his career is nearing its conclusion.

I hate this fight for Robbie. He only has X number of fights left. I’m not saying he should fight cans, but reward him for his blood and sweat and reward the fans by having him fight someone that will be justvas entertaining.

Askren will try to lay on him and do little else.

At least he wont get KTFO
