UFC DRAFT?

MMA draft, not just strictly UFC draft. They would draft against her orgs like Bellator and WSOF etc

I'd rather the UFC just sign all the best prospects they can, rather than have some great prospects end up in Bellator or WSOF instead.

It would also suck for a hotshot prospect to get "drafted" by WSOF (or some smaller organization) when they want to be in the UFC and the UFC is interested.

This might be one of the stupidest things I've seen proposed on here.

In this hypothetical WMMAA (World Mixed Martial Arts Association) draft, what if there was cross promotional trades too?

Other orgs. I guess it wouldn't be a UFC draft as much as an MMA draft.
No way the UFC would encourage such a thing. It would block their top spot in the sport. Money and exposure would no longer be an issue. Interesting. It would shake shit up.

Imagine cross promotional trades too, like the ufc trading Erick Silva for Adam McDonough or something like that.

How so?

Creating a World Mixed Martial Arts Association where there could be a governing body that oversees drafts and cross promotional trades would be awesome IMO.

A lot of MMA fans are pretty over TUF as an institution to bring in young new prospects into the UFC. What if the MMA community held a draft?

All amateur combat sport athletes could be eligible.

The UFC could send scouts to the following tourney's:
-NCAA Wrestling Championships
-IBJJF World Jiu Jitsu Championships
-Pan Ams World BJJ Championships
-National Golden Gloves Championships
-National Karate Championships
-US Open Judo Championships
-WKF Kickboxing Championships
-World Sambo Championships
-Olympics? (Most events have rules against pro athletes being members of teams)

I feel like this approach would result in a healthy, steady stream of upcoming talent from all over the globe and aid in opening up those international markets that are still young or even untouched territory for the UFC right now. Maybe the UFC could even set the athletes up with camps and everything, as if on a scholarship for their first few fights.
