UFC cares only for its investors

This thread is not true.

UFC cares for the endless stream of smoking hot waitresses, hostesses, golddiggers, party girls, and showgirls that the UFC execs are constantly balling in vegas casinos just for fun.

Also, UFC cares about trannies. They won't book trannies against women.

Also, UFC cares about rape vans. They cut some dude many years ago because the dude was talking about rape vans.

Sherdog: "The UFC roster is bloated and the UFC waters down cards with cans that don't belong in the UFC"

Also Sherdog: "The UFC underpays their fighters."

Pick a narrative people.
UFC waters down cards by having to many cans who take away money from the cream of the crop fighters that get underpaid cause of it?

{<shrug}

Only thing to maybe repair things are

1. Collective bargaining agreements

2. Other promotions doing it better

Neither have come to fruition and nothing will change in the interim

You think Ilia Topuria would get paid more if they didn't have to pay guys making 12/12? You must be joking.

Then don't watch.

I stopped watching woke sports because they pissed me off and I didn't want to give them my money anymore.

Stop giving them your money.

The demand is obviously way too high so when something you don't like is doing well you gotta just say screw it and decide to not worry anymore bro.

Imagine if the people could do something about this? Like not buy PPVs, merchandise or tickets? Could such a thing be possible?

That's been evident for awhile. I gave them a pass for a long time because the sport seemed like it was a step removed from an Indian reservation. Once they instituted the uniforms and killed the small to medium sponsorship market it was obvious that the fighters were mostly interchangeable meat tossed into the blender on a Saturday night. After the Endeavour buyout and subsequent ESPN deal they have even less reason to care.

MMA is a scam for the higher level fighters. Bringing in 50-100 mil revenue a year and making like 1-3 million a fight.

12k/12k is decent for the regional jobbers though.

the ufc was not created to make friends, its here to make money.

this is sports entertainment, people pay money to be entertained.

so the ufc can pay operating costs, and pay the investors, without investors there is no ufc.

its too big now.

the more entertaining you are, the more money you make.

sound like wwe much??

There is a third option if things get too bad though- the UFC could reach a point where they either change or go under (or become a total niche sport).

It all comes down to money- the UFC was willing to pay/use USADA and punish players for saying stupid shit in public back when they felt those things would affect their bottom line; once they realized they wouldn't, they dropped USADA and became all about free speech.

If what is going around about the UFC's PPVs starting to be consistently low is true, change may be coming down the pipe already. The business model may change sooner than later if that stuff is true.

It has already

Dana is all-in on PowerSlap and gets so happy talking about it. Even at UFC pressers, which is a personal slap, no pun intended, to the the UFC employees themselves

Dana don’t give too much fucks about mma, especially with his big boxing ventures finally coming to surface

I meant the way they run the UFC- they charge a massive price for the PPVs; they keep the top few fighters in the world but not necessarily the rest of the top fighters at each weight class; they have loads of mediocre fighters to fill the excessive number of shows on their contract with ESPN (they don't have nearly enough talent to ill those shows with any kind of quality); they have matchmaking that is not fan friendly (like the HW situation); they pay peanuts; and finally, they promote the brand a lot and the fighters a little.

I doubt all of that is sustainable long term because people just won't buy the product enough.
