UFC Becoming Great Again

It's become increasingly more difficult to get top fighters to agree to fights. And most are fighting less and less often, to the point that some only fight once a year.

75% of fights in the UFC now consist of manlets and women.

For me that's how the UFC recovers, but I expect more unearned title shots and more CM Punks, hope I am just being cynical though.

I sympathize with your disdain for CM Punk and unearned titleshots, but I don't think that is what is ailing the UFC.

How many CM Punks have there been? Punk himself, but where are other examples to the extent that it would make this a problem? I don't see it. The UFC gave Punk a chance to fight and everyone made money, but they didn't commit too much. One fight a year and a half ago.

And while I do think there have been some unearned title shots, there aren't all that many. And I think this is key, I don't think they correlate well to whether the UFC is doing good or bad. There were plenty of dubiously earned title shots throughout UFC history. I think it is hard to show there have been more than normal recently. Other than Henderson vs Bisping and McGregor vs ALvarez, what are we talking about here?

I sense the same malaise in the UFC since WME took over that everyone else does, but I'm not so certain as to its causes.

This sport is dead until McGregor returns.

Statements like this make you seem like a noob who just started watching the sport because of Connor. The UFC was awesome before connor, and it would be awesome after as well. Reality slapped you in the face when he got choked by nate, and it will make you cry again when he gets mauled by top dawgs in the lightweight division. People who have actually defended their belts too lol.

P.S. How can you base an entire sport's relevance off one fighter? Wouldn't that one fighter needs other people to fight?

The fights are coming together and things are getting back on track.

Khabib vs Fergy
Barboza vs Lee
Moraes vs RIvera
Overeem vs Blades
DC vs Stipe
Whitaker vs Romero
Gatchie vs Porrier
Etc...

Even the watered down cards have been entertaining lately.

Jones got a slap on the wrist. Conor has nowhere else to run so its only a matter of time before he enters the cage. GSP looks like he's getting back in shape for another go. Brock is wearing UFC shirts

the "who the fuck is that guy" Jeremy Stephens pulls better than expected numbers on Fox.

It looks like UFC is becoming great again.
The 3 April cards are outstanding for sure. And 222 isn't bad it just has a bad headliner
