Elkins looked like shit before the fight and got dropped on the very first strike which wasn't huge.

If he got KOed in training before this fight, that was what I think it would look like.


And WTF is Beltran doing, guy hasn't walked right for 2 minutes, dropped multiple times then after like 25 unanswered strikes he jumps in like he just remembered he was the ref.

It is and always has been human nature to judge future behavior based on past behavior. Elkins has come back from taking beatings that would kill pretty much anybody else to win so many times that I'm not surprised people assumed he'd be fine again this time.

I get what you are saying.
Refs are supposed to be professional and utilize critical thinking to maintain order and prioritize safety in the cage regardless of the historical beatings a guy has absorbed.
