From a promotional standpoint it doesnt make sense for the UFC to highlight Ngannou and thereby remind people that the lineal champion is with another organisation. Potentially Jones' two only wins at heavyweight are going to be against the two guys that Ngannou beat already.

Dana is immature and lame. He constantly lets his emotions get in the way of business and judgment. There's no reason why the Jones and ngannou fight couldn't have happened. Jones asked for more money in 2020 then Dana smeared Jones then vice versa for Francis in 2022.
How can you erase Francis after he delivered some of the lost exciting fights and knockouts in MMA history. You cannot recreate what he did to overeem or jairzinho. How do you explain away Stipe's last loss? It's an insult to our intelligence. What sucks is even though I won't be watching that shit. Millions of people will because they are not critical thinkers and will latch onto anything Dana tells them. It's sad. At the very least fucking give us aspinall vs Jones, since they fumbled Jones vs Francis ffs

WHAT history lol? Got outboxed by the Black Beast, got beat up by Stipe, then waited over half a decade to beat a 40 year old Stipe who’d already had his chin cracked by Cormier. Got pieced up by a white belt and laid on him during a terrible leglock attempt to get a decision which he did ZERO damage in… followed that up by going to the minor leagues where he hasn’t fought since and embarrassed himself with an 0-2 boxing record.


Seems like the UFC is doing this guy a favor omitting that mediocre run.


Jones already matched his biggest accomplishment at HW in like a minute.

Happy Ngannou got paid for boxing, but I can imagine why the UFC wouldn't want their active HW champ getting knocked out on a boxing PPV and still try to promote the guy as unbeatable on the feet. Most people can recognize that boxers are just on a whole other level on the feet, but it still takes away from Ngannou's aura.
